Vera Lane Studio - Toucan Do

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Toucan Do which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've gone with a slimline card this week. I cut out a panel of card 3.5" x 8.5" and brayered on some Dina Wakley acrylic paint in Lemon and Ruby. I added some stamping using the numbers from the AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set, using Versafine Clair Nocturne. I then added some splatters using red and white Posca Pens.

Next I cut out the Slimline Cloud die in white card and adhered it to my background panel.

I then coloured the images with my copic markers and cut them out. I added the girl at the bottom and the toucans standing on the clouds. I finished it by adding the sentiment to the clouds.

I really love how this turned out.

Vera Lane Studio - Bug Me

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Bug Me which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided the Bug Me set was perfect for using my little shaker jar dies from Lawn Fawn. I cut the bases from mixed media card. Three of them I used with Distress Oxides and the Grasshopper was coloured using Copics.
The jar fronts were cut from white card apart from the Bee jar. I coloured them with copics and added white highlights to them all. I cut the jar lids and added some twine around them all. I then finished them with some little embellishments.
I added sequins and crushed crystals to three of them. The crushed crystals are supposed to represent ice in the jar. I then added the fronts on 3D foam pads
I coloured all the bugs with my Copics and adhered them to the acetate on the front of the jars.

I love this cute little shaker set of bugs!

Vera Lane Studio - Elodie

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring an older release called Elodie which is available from the Etsy shop.

I made a postcard this week. I scored my card lengthways every ½ inch. Once I had done that I ran the Grey watercolour brush marker down the score lines and softened it with my waterbrush. I also scribbled some of the grey onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. I used this to wash over the panels in between. I then stamped one of the text stamps from the AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set on each side using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Next I added some paint splatters in green and blue using my Posca pens. To finish off the background I doodled some scallops with my black fineliner on the patterned paper and cut them out. I then adhered them to the top and bottom of the postcard and doodled all around the edge.

I coloured the image with my Copic markers and paper pieced her dress in the same patterned paper as the scallops.I added some highlights using my white gel pen. I then adhered her to the postcard. I finished it with the sentiment which I doodled round with my black fineliner. This must be one of my favourite colour combos!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme from Team Wendy is

Masculine

To make the background I spritzed water on some Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. I smooshed my card in each colour individually making sure it was dry between each colour. I did this until I was happy with the look. I then stamped the music section from the main stamp (AALL & Create Vocalist) in Versafine Clair Nocturne black. I also used part of the Splodge stamp and stamped it in black. I then used the Reverse Stars stamp and stamped it in Blueprint Sketch randomly over the background.

Next I took the main panel and did the same only this time I didn't use the music section but used the Scripted Stars instead. I also inked around the edge with Blueprint Sketch to make it stand out more. I then stamped the whole Vocalist stamp in the middle using Versafine Clair Nocturne. I took my blue watercolour brush marker and coloured the guitar and cassette tape pulling the colour out. To finish the panel I splattered some Molotow white acrylic paint over it.
I cut out the Whimsy Happy die in black card and cut the Birthday on my ScanNCut. I adhered them in place. To finish off I added the sentiment and name using a mini alphabet.

For June it's another anything goes challenge.

The sponsor this month is Fred She Said and the prize is a $10 gift voucher.

I decided to make a tag this month as my DT project. I used the Creative Expressions Sam Poole Tattered Tags and cut out the tag in kraft card and Nitwit Collections patterned paper. I added a strip of hessian near the bottom of the tag and adhered a button to it. I then printed and coloured this sweet image called Nolan And The Bullfrog with my copic markers. I added some highlights with my white gel pen. I then fussy cut out the image and adhered him on the hessian.

Next I cut out the Whimsy stamps Awesome sentiment in green card and added it to the left side of the tag. I cut some lengths of ribbon and twine and added them to the hole at the top of the tag. To finish off I added a frog brad.

Vera Lane Studio - Learn To Fly

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Learn To Fly which is available from the Etsy shop.

I spritzed my card panel with Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide sprays. I then spritzed with some water and moved the colours around until I was happy. I then stamped in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide using the grid stamp from the AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients by Janet.

I spritzed some Paperartsy Snowflake white paint with some water and splattered it over the panel. I finished the background by adding a doodled border with my white gel pen.

Next I moved onto my digi stamps. I coloured them with my copic markers and fussy cut them out. I added a piece of Janet's washi tape #18 Poets which I coloured with the same copic colours. I then adhered the girl and flowers to it.

I then added my sentiment and went round it in black. I placed the two birds at either side at the top. I then doodled black lines to make it look like the birds were holding the sign.

Vera Lane Studio - Pirates

I'm sharing a second  Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a pair of tags featuring an older release called Pirates which is available from the Etsy shop.

I created the wood effect background using my scoreboard and brown watercolour marker. Then added the nail effect with a brown sharpie.

The porthole was cut using a die I had, and I spread it over the two tags along with the underwater scene. I added some gilding wax to the porthole to highlight the embossing

I added the pirate images which were coloured with my copic markers. One on each tag along with a sentiment from the set.. To finish I knotted some natural twine and threaded through the holes at the top.

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a double 6x6 journal spread featuring the new release this week called Cinderella which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started by brayering some Arteza Pearl Sky Blue over both pages. I then brayered some Pearl White over the blue. It's got such a beautiful sheen but difficult to photograph.
I then stamped AALL & Create stamps #468 Scripted Stars and #485 Reverse Stars randomly over the pages using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide. I then coloured in the small stars using a blue metallic pencil. I then splattered some Molotow white acrylic paint over the pages.

Next I printed out the images and coloured them in with my Copic markers. I thenfussy cut them out. I added the glass slipper in the bottom right page and added some clear wink of stella to add some sparkle. I added the Believe strip of washi tape on the left hand side and added Cinderella to it. Crafts Galore Encore May Challenge

As it's the first of the month, today I'm sharing my DT card for Crafts Galore Encore.

For May it's another anything goes challenge.

The sponsor this month is Morgan's ArtWorld  and the prize is 3 digi stamps.

I decided to do a 5x5 card this month. I ran some grey cardstock through the Knit One Purl One embossing folder to give it a knitted texture. I then cut some circles of burnt orange card using the Memory Box Wrapped Stitched Circles dies. Once they were cut I then ran them through the same embossing folder. I adhered the grey background to the card and added the circles in the position I was happy with.

Next I coloured the image called Winter 10 using my Copic markers in burnt orange and grey to match the cardstock. I then fussy cut her out.

Once I had decided where she was to go I adhered her to the card. I then cut the Lawn Fawn Hugs die in black card to give contrast. Once it was in place I then stamped the Warm from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set above it. I finished off with some orange dewdrops.

I really love how this card turned out!

Vera Lane Studio - Moose Hunt

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 6x6 journal page featuring an extra release this week called Moose Hunt which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started with a piece of 6x6 wood effect patterned paper. I then stamped one of the circles from AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients on Versafine Clair Acorn randomly over the background. I used #304 Heatfelt and stamped it with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide again randomly over the background. I then used the numbers stamp from #338 Background Noise and stamped it with Versafine Clair Nocturne

Next I printed and coloured the trees and moose using my Copic markers adding some highlights with my white gel pen, and fussy cut them out. I positioned the trees where I wanted them and adhered them to the background. I trimmed the antlers off one of the moose to make it female. I then adhered them to the background adding some white corrugated card below them that I'd coloured to look like grass.
I also stamped and coloured the leaves from the #418 Tea Time stamp set and added them to the mouth of the female moose. To finish off I used up some die cut hearts that were left from a Whimsy Die cut and added the punny Moose Be Love sentiment, which I doodled around with my black fineliner pen.

Vera Lane Studio - Marine Mammals

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an 8 inch double journal spread featuring the soft release this week called Marine Mammals which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided to make the pages look like an aquarium.

I started by adding some Paperartsy Ice Blue acrylic paint to the pages using a baby wipe. I then added the Sky to the bottom half of the page and blended until I got the look I wanted. I then used the AALL & Create #87 Totally Dotty stencil and dabbed some Tumbled Glass distress oxide though it until I got the background bubble look I wanted. Next I used two different sized pen lids and dipped them in Snowflake white paint and stamped them randomly over the pages to look like more bubbles. I added some white gel pen highlights to them and not forgetting some white paint splats.

I then cut 4 strips of the Stamperia wood effect paper to size and blended some Vintage Photo distress oxide over them to age them a bit. I then glued them in place with gel medium. After that I added a thick layer of gel medium along the bottom of the aquarium and added some decorative sand.

Next I moved onto the printing and colouring of the images I wanted to use. I used the whale and narwhal from the Marine Mammals set, seaweed from the Mermen and Under The Sea sets, purple fish from Sakana, other fish and seashell from Ocean's 11. I coloured them with my copic markers and cut them out. Next I adhered them to my pages using gel medium. I printed out the sentiment from the Marine Mammals set and also decided to give the aquarium a name so went for OddysSea. Some black fineliner around the sentiments and a pearl to the large seashell and it was finished.

I was really pleased with how it turned out!

Vera Lane Studio - Jardin

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 5½ inch double journal spread featuring Jardin which is available from the Etsy shop. I also used an older set called Circles And Stems.

I started by  using the Cracked Wall 1 stencil and some light modelling paste on the left hand page. Once it was dry I went over it with some Antique Linen distress oxide with some spritzed water added. Next I went over the raised bricks lightly with some Vintage Photo DO.

I blended some Tumbled Glass DO over the top 2 thirds of the pages.I then cut a cloud stencil out of some acetate and inked over it with Salty Ocean DO, moving it down the page to where the ink stopped. Next I blended some Lucky Clover DO on the bottom third of the pages and stamped using one of the stamps from the Visual Ingredients stamp set to look like grass.

I coloured the girl, seedlings, seed packets and gloves from the Jardin set with my copic markers and cut them out. I used a piece of green garden net and attached it to the wall and adhered the new seedlings at the bottom. I then added the girl to the right of it.

I also printed out some of the circles and stems a few times, coloured them with my copics and decoupaged them to give some dimension.

I added the stems to make them look like trees. I adhered them on the right hand page and added the gloves and seed packets at the bottom.

To finish off I printed the sentiment, doodled around it with my black fineliner and added it to the pages.

Vera Lane Studio - La Belle Vie

Happy Easter Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring La Belle Vie which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made a little plaque from lollipop sticks for my project today. I glued 7 together at the back using 2 smaller lollipop sticks, and gave it a light wash of white acrylic paint.

I took my Twisted Citron distress oxide spray and gave it a few bursts over the plaque. I then used AALL & Create #103 Pebble Pile stencil and sponged lightly through it with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide. I then stamped #471 Scripted Ovals and the numbers from #338 Background Noise randomly in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Then added some Violet and White paint splatters using my Posca pens.

Next I cut a strip of white corrugated card and coloured it with some green copics to represent grass and adhered it across the plaque near the bottom.

I printed out the girl and multiples of her flowers and coloured them with my copics and cut them out. I added some white highlights with my gel pen.

I had some white mini fencing so cut it down and glued some of the flowers to the front of it. I then adhered it just above the grass on the right side. I then adhered the girl to the middle and the other flowers to the left. To finish off I doodled around the sentiment with my black fineliner and adhered it to the plaque.

Now just to display it in The Crafty Cabin!

Using it as a stamp I pressed down over the inked area.

I then stamped one of the stamps from the AALL & Create set #453 Heart grunge in Versafine Clair Nocturne and Monarch randomly over the panel.Next I stamped using #304 Heartfelt using the Monarch ink.

I moved on to stamping the large heart in the Heart Grunge set onto purple tartan paper and cut it out. I then adhered it to the card.

Vera Lane Studio - Specs Appeal

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Specs Appeal which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided I wanted a funny theme so  typed up the eye chart and inserted it into Word. I added two rows of the different specs you get in the digi set and printed it out.

I coloured in the glasses and added glossy accents. I added one of the sets of glasses to the girl and printed her out. I then coloured her with my copic markers. I stamped the circles stamp from Janet's #338 Background Noise in Versamark on her dress and embossed it with WOW white embossing powder. I also added glossy accents to her glasses. I doodled around the edge with my black fineliner and added some of Janet's new Washi tape for AALL & Create.

Next I added some black and wine paint splatters. I used another small piece of washi tape and adhered the girl on it at the left side. I finally added the sentiment using the SPECS to cover up the "other" word in the eye chart....lol.

It's quite a CAS project but wanted to focus on the girl and the eye chart.

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Aviary which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started by adhering a piece of the Stamperia Blue Lands paper to fit my page. I then used the AALL & Create #37 Cracked Walls 1 stencil and stencilled using Liquitex light modelling paste in the top and bottom left corners.

Once it was dry I went over with a watered down white gesso. Just to tone down the papers and give an even texture.

Next I used some watered down Paperartsy Fresco paints in Ice Blue, Sky and Double Denim. Starting with the lightest just washing over the  texture paste and working towards the darkest shade. Also all around the outside so the darkest shade was at the edges. Once that was dry I used the Music part from the #75 Vocalist stamp set and stamped some randomly using Versafine Clair Nocturne. Then I stamped the grid stamp from #404 Visual Ingredients around the edges. I finished off the stamping with #304 heartfelt using Salty Ocean DO and added some white splatters with my white paint pen.

I then coloured in my image and 4 of the birds using my copic markers, added some highlights with a white gel pen and cut them out.

I added a piece of  #8 Fledgling washi tape and adhered my girl to it. I then adhered the birds. To finish off I added the sentiment and outlined with black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - Bunny Kisses

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Bunny Kisses which is available from the Etsy shop.

I brayered my card using Paperartsy Fresco paints in Frosty and Peppermint greens and also Sherbet pink. I then brayered some Snowflake white onto the AALL & Create #116 Tre Fiore stencil by Janet. Next I spritzed it with some water and placed it on the background. I smoothed it down and held it in place for a minute then removed the stencil.

After that I used the circles from the #22 Human stencil and applied some Liquitex light modelling paste which I added some of the green and pink paint to, so it would coordinate. After it dried I used the stencil again and dabbed some Snowflake white paint through it with a sponge.

When it had all dried I stamped using #304 Heartfelt, #352 Circled numbers and the script from #338 Backround Noise randomly over the page using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Some white splatters using my paint pen to finish it off.
I added two pieces of washi tape and adhered the girls on them. Finally I added the sentiment and ran my black fineliner around it.
Aren't they just the sweetest little bunnies?

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

 Saturday and time for another

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme from Team Wendy is
Spring Mood Board

I've made a 6x6 journal page using this fab Bee Gnome digi stamp from KLM Digital Designs. I coloured him with my copic markers and cut him out. I added some highlights with my white gel pen.
For the background I added some Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade distress oxides to my glass mat and spritzed with water. I then smooshed the card in it until I was happy with it.
I then brayed my hexagonal stencil with Paperartsy Snowflake white paint and spritzed with water lightly. I placed it on the background and pressed down for a few minutes.

I then used the AALL & Create #383 Scripted Haxagons stamp and stamped randomly around the edge using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Next up I used my black Posca pen to add some black ink splatters. To finish off I added the sentiment and used my black fineliner pen around it to make it stand out.
