Vera Lane Studio - Crush

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's soft release called Crush which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made a pair of tags this week. The background is the smooshing technique using Distress Oxides  and stamped with Tracy Evans Heart Grunge and Heartfelt stamps. I coloured the hearts with my Magenta Ecoline Pen. I sprinkled some frantage and heat embossed it and splattered some white piant. I coloured the images with my copic markers and fussy cut them out then adhered them to the tags.
I finished them off with the sentiments from the set.

Vera Lane Studio - Useful Quotes

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's soft release called Useful Quotes which is available from the Etsy shop. I've paired it with an older set called Pleiades.

I've made a slimline card this week. I blended distress oxides in Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot in order starting from the centre and working outwards. I then stamped the #468 Scripted Stars in Chipped Sapphire and then when it was dry I overstamped it with my Versamark ink pad and clear embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder. I used my Tim Holtz stamping platforn to get it perfectly lined up. I spritzed some water over the background and dried it off. Then I flicked some watered down Paperartsy Snowflake white paint over the background with my fan paint brush. Using my white gel pen I added some white sparkles.

Once the background was finished I printed out the sentiment quote and image and coloured her with my Copic markers, adding some white dots to her dress. I then fussy cut her out along with the stars. To finish off I added a piece of washi tape and adhered her to the background along with the quote.

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's soft release called Superheros which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made two tags this week using the Sam Poole Tattered Tags die.

For the first tag I used Superman. I coloured him with my Copic markers and fussy cut him out.I used the #126 Lotza Starz stencil and Liquitex light modelling paste and added some textured stars to the tag. Next I spritzed Prize Ribbon and Festive Berries distress oxides on my glass mat and smooshed the tag in each colour separately drying in between. I also stamped #485 Reverse Stars randomly using Prize Ribbon, Festive Berries and Versafine Clair Cheerful. I adhered a scrap piece of yellow zig zag paper and punched out a couple of stars from it. I then adhered Superman and the sentiment which I printed on my PC. I finished off by adding the two yellow stars.

For the second tag I used Spiderman. I also coloured him with my Copic markers and fussy cut him out. I used the same tag die cut as the first and the same smooshing technique only with Black Soot as well. I then stamped the circles from #338 Background Noise randomly with Versafine Clair Nocturne.Next I added the spider web die cuts using the Cheery Lynn corner die. I used the word fun from the washi tape and added it near the bottom of the tag. I then added Spiderman with some black netting behind him. To finish off I added the sentiment from the set.

Vera Lane Studio - Housework Whenever

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Housework Whenever which is available from the Etsy shop. This little lady better check out her washing machine before she washes her next load as she has a squatter in the machine..lol.

I've made a journal page. I started with a piece of card and using my Distress Oxides I blended some Shaded Lilac with my blending brushes and then went round the edges with Hickory Smoke.
Next I stamped all over using the Scripted Circles stamp from AALL & Create using the Shaded Lilac. I then stamped around the edges with the Reckoner Digits stamp using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. I then added some paint splatters using my white and yellow Posca pens. I coloured some Washi tape with my Yellow Copics and added some around the edges. To finish off the background I doodled around the edge with the yellow Posca pen.

I coloured up the girl from the Housework set using shades of lilac and yellow. I wanted to add a little fun to the page so added the mermaid from the Under The Sea set to the drum of the washing machine as a little aqua squatter. Isn't she cute?
Once I had adhered them to the page I added the white circles (bubbles) using my white Posca pen. To finish off I added the sentiment.

Vera Lane Studio - Little Miss

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Little Miss which is available from the Etsy shop.

This Little Miss definitely looks like she's stepping out of her townhouse like someone famous!
Just owning it standing on her step.

I cut a piece of card 3.5 inches wide and 6 inches tall. I then cut a triangle from the white corrugated card so the overall size is 3.5x 8.5 inches.

I spritzed my distress oxide sprays in Antique Linen, Prize Ribbon and Vintage Photo and smooshed the card in each colour one at a time, drying between each colour. Next I sprinkled some frantage over it all and heated it from below. I love the effect it gives. Next I stamped some elements from different AALL & Create stamp sets in Versamark and embossed them in Primary Lagoon and Opaque Bright White Wow embossing powders.I added some Washi tape in different areas around the house.

I coloured in the Little Miss in blues and neutrals to match the Distress Oxides I'd used. I also coloured one of the windows from the Vera Lane Studio Windows set and added it it to the house. I added a little offcut from the corrugated card to make a step and a chimney.
I adhered the Little Miss to the step and finished off with one of the sentiments.

Vera Lane Studio - No Kidding

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called No Kidding which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made an accordion card this week. I scored a 10" x 4 ¾" piece of card at 2½, 5 and 7½ inches.I hand drew a line of hills on some card and cut it out using each piece like stencils so I could ink up the sky first using Tumbled Glass and a little Salty Ocean. I then used the other half of the card so I could ink up the grass using Lucky Clover. I then stamped over the grass using the scribbly stamp from the #338 Background Noise stamp set using Lucky Clover again so it was tone on tone.

I coloured Billy the little boy, 3 goats and the grass tufts from the No Kidding set with my copic markers. I also coloured one of the suns from the Suns set. I added the little boy on the first page then 1 goat on each of the others along with the grass tufts. The sun was added to the last page along with the word Shine from the washi tape.
To finish off I added the words to the Little Goatherd song from The Sound Of Music for a little bit of humour!

Vera Lane Studio - Sherlock Holmes

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Sherlock Holmes which is available from the Etsy shop.

I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so I asked Janet if she would draw a Sherlock Holmes character and she didn't disappoint! (not that she ever does!)
I went with a small double journal spread.  I smooshed Squeezed Lemonade, Rustic Wilderness and Vintage Photo spritzed with water over both pages until I got the look I was happy with. I also scribbled the Deep Yellow Ecoline pen on my glass mat and added some water. I used this to add some darker yellow areas.
I then stamped the #262 MESH stamp randomly over the pages using the same Oxide colours. Next I used the  #456 Snippet Alphabet and stamped 221B (Baker Street) in Versafine Clair Nocturne a couple of times including off the page. I also added some question marks (Whodunnit?)

I then used one of the stamps from #211 Count On You and stamped it a few times. I then cut out some shoeprints on my ScanNCut and used them as a stencil. I sponged through with Black Soot.
I finished the background with some white paint splatters.
I then coloured and cut out Sherlock, Toby and one of the sentiments,
I printed out the dictionary definitio of detective and adhered it on the right page. I then added Sherlock and Toby just above it.
I finished the pages by adding the sentiment to the left hand page and doodling around it with my black fineliner.

I added some stamping using the numbers from the AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set, using Versafine Clair Nocturne. I then added some splatters using red and white Posca Pens.

Next I cut out the Slimline Cloud die in white card and adhered it to my background panel.

I then coloured the images with my copic markers and cut them out. I added the girl at the bottom and the toucans standing on the clouds. I finished it by adding the sentiment to the clouds.

Vera Lane Studio - Bug Me

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Bug Me which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided the Bug Me set was perfect for using my little shaker jar dies from Lawn Fawn. I cut the bases from mixed media card. Three of them I used with Distress Oxides and the Grasshopper was coloured using Copics.
The jar fronts were cut from white card apart from the Bee jar. I coloured them with copics and added white highlights to them all. I cut the jar lids and added some twine around them all. I then finished them with some little embellishments.
I added sequins and crushed crystals to three of them. The crushed crystals are supposed to represent ice in the jar. I then added the fronts on 3D foam pads
I coloured all the bugs with my Copics and adhered them to the acetate on the front of the jars.

I love this cute little shaker set of bugs!

Vera Lane Studio - Elodie

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring an older release called Elodie which is available from the Etsy shop.

I made a postcard this week. I scored my card lengthways every ½ inch. Once I had done that I ran the Grey watercolour brush marker down the score lines and softened it with my waterbrush. I also scribbled some of the grey onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. I used this to wash over the panels in between. I then stamped one of the text stamps from the AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set on each side using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Next I added some paint splatters in green and blue using my Posca pens. To finish off the background I doodled some scallops with my black fineliner on the patterned paper and cut them out. I then adhered them to the top and bottom of the postcard and doodled all around the edge.

I coloured the image with my Copic markers and paper pieced her dress in the same patterned paper as the scallops.I added some highlights using my white gel pen. I then adhered her to the postcard. I finished it with the sentiment which I doodled round with my black fineliner. This must be one of my favourite colour combos!

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Learn To Fly which is available from the Etsy shop.

I spritzed my card panel with Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide sprays. I then spritzed with some water and moved the colours around until I was happy. I then stamped in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide using the grid stamp from the AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients by Janet.

I spritzed some Paperartsy Snowflake white paint with some water and splattered it over the panel. I finished the background by adding a doodled border with my white gel pen.

Next I moved onto my digi stamps. I coloured them with my copic markers and fussy cut them out. I added a piece of Janet's washi tape #18 Poets which I coloured with the same copic colours. I then adhered the girl and flowers to it.

I then added my sentiment and went round it in black. I placed the two birds at either side at the top. I then doodled black lines to make it look like the birds were holding the sign.

Vera Lane Studio - Pirates

I'm sharing a second  Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a pair of tags featuring an older release called Pirates which is available from the Etsy shop.

I created the wood effect background using my scoreboard and brown watercolour marker. Then added the nail effect with a brown sharpie.

The porthole was cut using a die I had, and I spread it over the two tags along with the underwater scene. I added some gilding wax to the porthole to highlight the embossing

I added the pirate images which were coloured with my copic markers. One on each tag along with a sentiment from the set.. To finish I knotted some natural twine and threaded through the holes at the top.

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 6x6 journal page featuring an extra release this week called Moose Hunt which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started with a piece of 6x6 wood effect patterned paper. I then stamped one of the circles from AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients on Versafine Clair Acorn randomly over the background. I used #304 Heatfelt and stamped it with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide again randomly over the background. I then used the numbers stamp from #338 Background Noise and stamped it with Versafine Clair Nocturne

Next I printed and coloured the trees and moose using my Copic markers adding some highlights with my white gel pen, and fussy cut them out. I positioned the trees where I wanted them and adhered them to the background. I trimmed the antlers off one of the moose to make it female. I then adhered them to the background adding some white corrugated card below them that I'd coloured to look like grass.
I also stamped and coloured the leaves from the #418 Tea Time stamp set and added them to the mouth of the female moose. To finish off I used up some die cut hearts that were left from a Whimsy Die cut and added the punny Moose Be Love sentiment, which I doodled around with my black fineliner pen.

Vera Lane Studio - Marine Mammals

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an 8 inch double journal spread featuring the soft release this week called Marine Mammals which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided to make the pages look like an aquarium.

I started by adding some Paperartsy Ice Blue acrylic paint to the pages using a baby wipe. I then added the Sky to the bottom half of the page and blended until I got the look I wanted. I then used the AALL & Create #87 Totally Dotty stencil and dabbed some Tumbled Glass distress oxide though it until I got the background bubble look I wanted. Next I used two different sized pen lids and dipped them in Snowflake white paint and stamped them randomly over the pages to look like more bubbles. I added some white gel pen highlights to them and not forgetting some white paint splats.

I then cut 4 strips of the Stamperia wood effect paper to size and blended some Vintage Photo distress oxide over them to age them a bit. I then glued them in place with gel medium. After that I added a thick layer of gel medium along the bottom of the aquarium and added some decorative sand.

Next I moved onto the printing and colouring of the images I wanted to use. I used the whale and narwhal from the Marine Mammals set, seaweed from the Mermen and Under The Sea sets, purple fish from Sakana, other fish and seashell from Ocean's 11. I coloured them with my copic markers and cut them out. Next I adhered them to my pages using gel medium. I printed out the sentiment from the Marine Mammals set and also decided to give the aquarium a name so went for OddysSea. Some black fineliner around the sentiments and a pearl to the large seashell and it was finished.

I was really pleased with how it turned out!
