Vera Lane Studio - Crush

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's soft release called Crush which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made a pair of tags this week. The background is the smooshing technique using Distress Oxides  and stamped with Tracy Evans Heart Grunge and Heartfelt stamps. I coloured the hearts with my Magenta Ecoline Pen. I sprinkled some frantage and heat embossed it and splattered some white piant. I coloured the images with my copic markers and fussy cut them out then adhered them to the tags.
I finished them off with the sentiments from the set.

Vera Lane Studio - Superheros

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's soft release called Superheros which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made two tags this week using the Sam Poole Tattered Tags die.

For the first tag I used Superman. I coloured him with my Copic markers and fussy cut him out.I used the #126 Lotza Starz stencil and Liquitex light modelling paste and added some textured stars to the tag. Next I spritzed Prize Ribbon and Festive Berries distress oxides on my glass mat and smooshed the tag in each colour separately drying in between. I also stamped #485 Reverse Stars randomly using Prize Ribbon, Festive Berries and Versafine Clair Cheerful. I adhered a scrap piece of yellow zig zag paper and punched out a couple of stars from it. I then adhered Superman and the sentiment which I printed on my PC. I finished off by adding the two yellow stars.

For the second tag I used Spiderman. I also coloured him with my Copic markers and fussy cut him out. I used the same tag die cut as the first and the same smooshing technique only with Black Soot as well. I then stamped the circles from #338 Background Noise randomly with Versafine Clair Nocturne.Next I added the spider web die cuts using the Cheery Lynn corner die. I used the word fun from the washi tape and added it near the bottom of the tag. I then added Spiderman with some black netting behind him. To finish off I added the sentiment from the set.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme from Team Wendy is

Lots Of Layers

I've made a slimline card using this pretty image from All Dressed Up called Prima Ballerina. I coloured her with my Copic markers and fussy cut her out. I also printed out her tutu again and layered it with some tulle and added it to the main image.

I tore some of the Stamperia Passion papers and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress oxide. I then layered them up and adhered to the card base. I also used one of the tags from the Stamperia paper pad and added it on the left side. I stamped some script randomly using the Indigo Blu Script  Background and Versafine Clair Chianti ink. I then sprinkled some Aged Rose Frantage over it and heat embossed it. Next I added some paint splatters with my Posca white paint pen. I adhered the ballerina in place leaving her arms free to add some depth. I finished off with the Dance ticket from the Stamperia paper pad and some ribbon and tulle on the tag.

Vera Lane Studio - Sherlock Holmes

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Sherlock Holmes which is available from the Etsy shop.

I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so I asked Janet if she would draw a Sherlock Holmes character and she didn't disappoint! (not that she ever does!)
I went with a small double journal spread.  I smooshed Squeezed Lemonade, Rustic Wilderness and Vintage Photo spritzed with water over both pages until I got the look I was happy with. I also scribbled the Deep Yellow Ecoline pen on my glass mat and added some water. I used this to add some darker yellow areas.
I then stamped the #262 MESH stamp randomly over the pages using the same Oxide colours. Next I used the  #456 Snippet Alphabet and stamped 221B (Baker Street) in Versafine Clair Nocturne a couple of times including off the page. I also added some question marks (Whodunnit?)

I then used one of the stamps from #211 Count On You and stamped it a few times. I then cut out some shoeprints on my ScanNCut and used them as a stencil. I sponged through with Black Soot.
I finished the background with some white paint splatters.
I then coloured and cut out Sherlock, Toby and one of the sentiments,
I printed out the dictionary definitio of detective and adhered it on the right page. I then added Sherlock and Toby just above it.
I finished the pages by adding the sentiment to the left hand page and doodling around it with my black fineliner.

Elementary Dear Watson!

Vera Lane Studio - Elodie

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring an older release called Elodie which is available from the Etsy shop.

I made a postcard this week. I scored my card lengthways every ½ inch. Once I had done that I ran the Grey watercolour brush marker down the score lines and softened it with my waterbrush. I also scribbled some of the grey onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. I used this to wash over the panels in between. I then stamped one of the text stamps from the AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set on each side using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Next I added some paint splatters in green and blue using my Posca pens. To finish off the background I doodled some scallops with my black fineliner on the patterned paper and cut them out. I then adhered them to the top and bottom of the postcard and doodled all around the edge.

I coloured the image with my Copic markers and paper pieced her dress in the same patterned paper as the scallops.I added some highlights using my white gel pen. I then adhered her to the postcard. I finished it with the sentiment which I doodled round with my black fineliner. This must be one of my favourite colour combos!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

 Saturday and time for another

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme from Team Wendy is

Masculine

To make the background I spritzed water on some Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. I smooshed my card in each colour individually making sure it was dry between each colour. I did this until I was happy with the look. I then stamped the music section from the main stamp (AALL & Create Vocalist) in Versafine Clair Nocturne black. I also used part of the Splodge stamp and stamped it in black. I then used the Reverse Stars stamp and stamped it in Blueprint Sketch randomly over the background.

Next I took the main panel and did the same only this time I didn't use the music section but used the Scripted Stars instead. I also inked around the edge with Blueprint Sketch to make it stand out more. I then stamped the whole Vocalist stamp in the middle using Versafine Clair Nocturne. I took my blue watercolour brush marker and coloured the guitar and cassette tape pulling the colour out. To finish the panel I splattered some Molotow white acrylic paint over it.
I cut out the Whimsy Happy die in black card and cut the Birthday on my ScanNCut. I adhered them in place. To finish off I added the sentiment and name using a mini alphabet.

Vera Lane Studio - Moose Hunt

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 6x6 journal page featuring an extra release this week called Moose Hunt which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started with a piece of 6x6 wood effect patterned paper. I then stamped one of the circles from AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients on Versafine Clair Acorn randomly over the background. I used #304 Heatfelt and stamped it with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide again randomly over the background. I then used the numbers stamp from #338 Background Noise and stamped it with Versafine Clair Nocturne

Next I printed and coloured the trees and moose using my Copic markers adding some highlights with my white gel pen, and fussy cut them out. I positioned the trees where I wanted them and adhered them to the background. I trimmed the antlers off one of the moose to make it female. I then adhered them to the background adding some white corrugated card below them that I'd coloured to look like grass.
I also stamped and coloured the leaves from the #418 Tea Time stamp set and added them to the mouth of the female moose. To finish off I used up some die cut hearts that were left from a Whimsy Die cut and added the punny Moose Be Love sentiment, which I doodled around with my black fineliner pen.

I just love their expressions!

Vera Lane Studio - Create

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a postcard featuring the new release this week called  Create which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started by stamping the Splodge stamp from AALL & Create randomly over my postcard using Distress Oxides In Squeezed Lemonade, Festive Berries and Lucky Clover. I used the Alphabet Splatters stamp next and picked out and inked up the words Draw, Create, and Paint and stamped them onto the background in Versafine Clair Nocturne.
I then printed out my images and coloured  them with my copic markers adding highlights with my white gel pen. I then cropped the image down until it was just his shirt and printed it again. I then used the Splodge stamp and stamped the shirt with the same three oxide colours. . I then fussy cut it out and paper pieced it onto the main image.

I then added some of the #5 Artsy washi tape using the words MAKE and ART from it. I adhered my image above the ART piece. I then adhered the three tubes of paint next to him. I doodled around the sentiment with my black fineliner and added it. Finally I doodled around the edge of the postcard with the fineliner.
I just love his funky paint splattered shirt!

Vera Lane Studio - Bunny Kisses

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Bunny Kisses which is available from the Etsy shop.

I brayered my card using Paperartsy Fresco paints in Frosty and Peppermint greens and also Sherbet pink. I then brayered some Snowflake white onto the AALL & Create #116 Tre Fiore stencil by Janet. Next I spritzed it with some water and placed it on the background. I smoothed it down and held it in place for a minute then removed the stencil.

After that I used the circles from the #22 Human stencil and applied some Liquitex light modelling paste which I added some of the green and pink paint to, so it would coordinate. After it dried I used the stencil again and dabbed some Snowflake white paint through it with a sponge.

When it had all dried I stamped using #304 Heartfelt, #352 Circled numbers and the script from #338 Backround Noise randomly over the page using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Some white splatters using my paint pen to finish it off.
I added two pieces of washi tape and adhered the girls on them. Finally I added the sentiment and ran my black fineliner around it.
Aren't they just the sweetest little bunnies?

Vera Lane Studio - Baby It's Cold Outside

Happy Boxing Day!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Dog Lover which is available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I had this lovely textured card with a snow blizzard effect. I stamped with AALL and Create #80 Lined and #307 Overlapping Texture randomly around the edge using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. I also stamped #307 Overlapping Texture in Paperarty Snowflake white paint in some random areas too. I inked around the edges first with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide and then with Black Soot. I stamped the number stamp in #338 Background Noise with Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I used the white Molotow acrylic paint pen to create splatters over the panel. I then stamped one of the paint splats from #338 Background Noise in Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I coloured my image and dog using my copic markers in shades of grey and black, adding texture to her scarf and hat. I also added textured to the "doodle" dog. Some white gel pen highlights to finish off.

I then adhered them in place on the stamped paint splat.. Finally I added my PC printed sentiment and doodled around the edge with my black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - Parrot Love

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Parrot Love which is available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I used my Gelli plate to make my background. It was inspired by a Tracy Evans Facebook Live I watched to create the 4 quarters.

I added red acrylic paint to one quarter of the gelli plate and brayered it. I then put the stencil on top and patted down with scrap paper to remove excess paint. I did the same with each quarter alternating between the red and the Paperartsy Fresco Double Denim blue paint. I then lifted the print using Paperartsy Fresco Honeydew.

I random stamped the AALL and Create #262 Mesh stamp using Candied Apple Distress Oxide, and then #304 Heartfelt using Versafine Clair Paradise. I then splattered some Molotow white acrylic paint over it all and finished off by dabbing some Paperartsy Fresco Snowflake white paint around the edges.

Next I coloured my images with my copic markers adding some white highlights with my gel pen. I added some AALL and Create plain washi tape under where I wanted the branches to go and stamped with the #304 heartfelt stamp again. I adhered the branches and drew a line between them for one of the parrots to perch on. I then added the other parrots. I used another piece of plain washi tape I'd stamped on and added the girl and her parrot to this.

I finished off by adding the sentiment from the stamp set.

Sweet Stampin' Challege

Saturday and time for another

The theme from Team Susan is
Anything But A Square

I'm joining in with Team Susan this week as I'd made a circle card. I've used this cute stamp set from Aall and Create called Bunny and Bunnies. I coloured it with my Copic markers. I added my Distress Oxides to my craft sheet and sprayed with water. I smooshed my card in it until it looked how I wanted. Once it was dry I cut it with a circle die.
I then stamped with Versafine Clair Delight using the Aall and Create Circled Numbers stamp. Next I stamped one of the Background Noise stamps in blue and then using a bottle top I stamped it in Paperartsy Fresco paint Snowflake white. I then splattered it with white Posca paint.
I added a strip of contrasting washi tape and mounted my images on 3D foam pads on top.
I printed the sentiment on my PC and doodled round the edge to finish it off.
