Card For A Special Lady

Sorry I've been MIA for the last week, but I've been really busy what with,Halloween parties, getting my scrapbook class sorted and doing commissioned cards,I've had no time to do much else.I didn't even know I'd won the Sketch Saturday challenge from last week, until I saw the message from Sharon. So thanks Sharon for letting me know.
I also had a card to make for a special lady.I know she's already received the card so I can post it.My good friend and bloggy buddy Kath has her birthday today. So pop over to her fantastic blog and wish her a happy day.Kath makes the most amazing cards. For my card I actually did cut up my beloved Melissa Frances papers.I've stroked them lovingly for a long time, but decided that the time had come to use them.Believe you me,only Kath was worth the find them really hard to get here and I just adore them. The image is from a Stampin'Up Hostess Set called Oh,So Lovely.I stamped the background
mesh a few times and then masked the main flower and stamped it a few times at different levels.Coloured with copic markers.I also hand stitched (gasp!) round the edge of the card, after using my Cutter Bee Bug of course to make the holes.

Sketch Saturday

Another challenge with this card.I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday - Sketch #74.I've used some artistic license with it to fit with my card, but in all follows pretty much the sketch. It's also a first for me as I don't make Halloween cards generally, but saw this image on a blog called Wendy's Digital Doodling and thought it was cute and it was also a free download.

My Gorgeous Boy

No card for you today,so instead I thought I'd share a picture of my gorgeous boy Louis. The school photographers were in his school a few weeks ago,on his 6th birthday as it happened..So here's my boy smiling happily.I usually get a moan when I stick the camera in his face. He's sick of me taking photos for my scrapbook Click the picture for a closer look if you want.
Wonder where he gets those curls from.............

Miss Anya

This anya image i've had coloured for a wee while,in fact the whole card has been made up apart from the sentiment.I don't know about anyone else but the sentiment is always the bit I hate doing the most.I don't know why,but it's always the last bit to get done and quite a lot of the time I have cards sitting around just waiting on the sentiment to be put on.
This is a miss anya from the dressy set.I think this is a really pretty image. For some reason I picture her talking with a Southern American drawl.Or maybe that's just because I've been reading the True Blood series of books and watching the
Anyway, enough waffling. She's been coloured with copics and I've used the scrummy Doodlebug papers that I'd been hoarding and looking at for a few months.

Wooohoooo I've managed to do a challenge card with plenty of time to spare instead of missing the deadline, and it's my second card in a couple of days. That must be a record for
There's a fab sketch by Tiets over at The Sugar Bowl so I inked up my new Angel Wishes stamp from Sugar Nellie. She's so pretty.I've used my X-cut snowflake punches and layered them up and sprinkled with loads of Glamour Dust and added a Papermania shimmer dot to the centre of each.I love the effect of them both layered.
I've used my Cutter Bee Bug again to do the piercing round the edge and again it's just the single row.I really love this wee tool.I've also embossed the circle with the snowflake embossing folder and sanded it back,it's not showing very well though.I think I need to be using 8x8 cards as I struggle to fit everything

Card For Mia

I apologise in advance to anyone who doesn't use Twitter as I may sound like I've totally cracked in this use Twitter and I saw a Tweet (well it was a retweet actually) from Rick Allen the drummer from Def Leppard. It was for people to send cards to a little girl in the USA who has Crohn's Disease to cheer her up.How could I refuse the Thundergod's tweet,he's just amazing,an inspiration and from my favourite band of all time.Hence the blog title name. This is the organisation behind the plea if anyone is interested A FiveOh4 Uplifting.
So here's the card I made for Mia.It should be arriving in the USA any day now.I made a matching box for it too but haven't put the picture on.

Seeing as today is World Cardmaking Day I thought I better try and get a card made to celebrate the fact.I've been a bit uninspired recently and not been making much apart from a few commissions.Anyway, today I decided to just knuckle down and get on with making one.I bought some gorgeous new BoBunny papers from the Flutter Butter range at Craftology. If they don't inspire me nothing also found my EK Success Cutter Bee Bugs that had got buried under a pile of stash and used them for the piercing. They're fabby little tools and so easy to use. They come in single row, double row and zig zag.I'll probably use them now until I'm sick of

I've finally gotten over having the cold, just a few sniffles left.Thank goodness as I've got loads to do this week.I've got a LO to do for my scrapbook class on Monday and a birthday party to organise for tomorrow. It was Louis 6th birthday on Tuesday and he's having his party tomorrow.I collected his cake today and was at the cash and carry last night getting food and sweeties.I'd already ordered all the plates, cups and napkins online,so tomorrow will be busy. He's having it at a local soft play centre.A room full of excited 6 year old...the joys........
Anyway back to posting a card.I've not done much crafting as I wasn't feeling very well but managed to rustle this up using one of the new Sugar Nellie Christmas Manga stamps. It was supposed to be for the Sugar Bowl challenge, but didn't realise it finished yesterday so I missed it (again). You can click on the photo for a better view as I have to resize them due to their size, and you'll hopefully see all the bling.

Craftology had a demo weekend last weekend.Twelve demonstrators demonstrating different techniques.I was doing the Copic Marker demo and it was fab to see my lovely bloggy buddy Lorraine doing the Sakura pens.We had a fantastic day and were well looked after with food and drinks. We were demoing in part of what's to be their new shop as they're taking over new premises which are absolutely huge. What's online is a tiny fraction of what they have in store.
I had some quick sample cards to make up so thought I'd share some them with you.Hope you don't get too bored with them. This is a long'll do half of them as there's quite a few.

Two Cards Received

Just thought I'd share these two cards with you.One was for Louis from Kath's gorgeous crafty chum Buddy along with a parcel with some pencils and sweets in it.Needless to say the sweets didn't last long enough to photograph.

Next is a gorgeous Post It Note holder I got from my lovely friend Tina along with a little notecard and all in a beautiful matching box.

The pictures don't do them justice even though I treated myself to a new camera. After being undecided for months I finally went for the Canon EOS 450D.Not sure my cards will improve but hopefully the pictures need to get myself to some photography classes and learn how to use it...hehe.
I'm also in the process of getting some blog candy together as it's my birthday next week.I had hoped to have it all organised sooner than this, but as usual I'm at the coos tail.Louis went back to school today so I might get some time back for crafting. For now I better scoot as I've got a Body Pump class shortly.

Back From My Hols

Hi folks I'm back from my hols and been busy painting. Not the arty type. The roller and emulsion type.I'm up to my eyes in it and still got a bit to do.Haven't been doing much crafty wise but have a few cards I can share.I spent a fair few ££££ on holiday on crafty stuff as I visited Funkykits shop in Elgin (Papercrafts Boutique) and the lovely Simply Create in Alford, where I met up with my fabby bloggy buddy Kath again. We had a great crafty gab with Jacqui the owner of Simply Create. It was a fantastic afternoon and was over way too soon. This is the card I made for Kath.I know she loves Penny Black images and MME Bloom and Grow papers so used both on the card.

I also made a treat bag for Buddy but forgot to take a picture of it.

I also want to thank Sharon for a lovely blog award she left for me while I was on holiday.Thank you so much Sharon I really appreciate it.
I'm supposed to pass this on to some bloggy buddies, but most will have it so I'm going to nominate only one blog. It's for a lady who has just started off her blog and is a very special friend of mine.We met through the Docrafts forum. She's also just landed a DT position with Stampin Chic and no one deserves it more.So this award is going to Tina at Rainbird's Ramblings.Pop over and give her a big bloggy welcome and see her fabulous cards.

I'll hopefully get some blog hopping done tonight, well at least a start of it and catch up with all your lovely crafty creations.I've missed seeing them all.

Well I had originally planned to enter this for a Friday Sketcher's Challenge a few weeks back but didn't manage to get it uploaded in time.Better late than never though,so here it is.I've used the lovely Miss Anya stamp and coloured her with Copic Markers. The papers are the delish Bo Bunny.

Not sure how much crafting I'll get done this week as we're off on holiday on Saturday to Lossiemouth for a week and have got lots to get done.Hopefully I'll manage to get something uploaded before then though.
I thought you might like to hear this little story.I took Louis to the Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow last week as it was raining and we had a great time looking round it all,he especially loves the spitfire that hangs inside. We happened to go into the Charles Rennie Mackintosh room which has his lovely wall hangings and furniture on show.Louis was having a good look at it,then suddenly piped up in a loud voice. Mummy....did they get those from Homebase......rofl.Thank goodness none of the museum curators were around, they'd have been affronted at him comparing their £250k chairs to Hombase.Me ....I was pmsl.

At Last A Card

Sorry folks for not being around much lately but between blogger problems and real life getting in the way I've just not had time to craft or do much blogging to be honest.I've removed my playlist for now and fingers crossed it seems ok.The last few weeks of the school holiday have just gone by in a flash.Usually I'm a homebird but with my concerts,a hen night,a birthday party, and Louis also went to a couple of birthday parties,I've not had much time to think let alone craft.Keeping a 5 year old occupied all day is very and he gets to stay up a bit later because it's the holidays,so by time he goes to bed,I'm not that far behind him as I'm age etc etc.I've also been put on antihistamine tablets which are supposed to be non drowsy, but I'm absolutely shattered on them too.So a mix of it all and I'm done in.
I did have some commissions to do too but can't share them just now apart from one. They were a real labour of love and each one took days to do because I didn't have much crafty time and
because they were to be special cards. One was a wedding card for the bride from her mum,one was an anniversary card for my pal Stu to give to his friends and the other was a silver wedding anniversary card for a girl I go to Body Combat and Body Pump with from me.They are all along a similar line so I'm sure you'll get the

Apologies for not being around to visit everyone, but my blog isn't playing ball just now.The playlists are having problems and it's taking ages for the blog to load. It's soooooo slow and I just don't have the time just now to faff about. It seems to be a known problem and resolves itself.I've got a challenge card here waiting to upload but it's just too slow at the moment,so I've given up trying for now.
I'm off to see ACDC tomorrow at Hampden which should be fantastic, but a bit hot hot hot I think. So plenty of sun cream, water and of course some chocolate to keep the blood sugar levels
Hopefully the blog will be back working properly and I can play catch up with everyone. It's taken me ages just to get this post up...grrrrrrr.

Busy busy busy

Sorry everyone for not visiting your lovely blogs over the last week, but it's been a busy week with one thing and another.I'm beginning to think I'll meet myself coming
I've not got any cards to show you just now although I do have a few in various stages of completion, mainly for Louis to give to his teachers. He has a few due to his special needs in school.Hopefully I'll get them finished and pop them on.
Last night I went to see Tesla in concert (who I hear you ask?) they're an 80's American rock band so probably all too young to know them (unlike me!) and my ears are still ringing. So for anyone who is remotely interested here's a song off their new album (it's a ballad).Pause the other music first or you'll get one mighty noise.

I'll try and start getting round all my lovely bloggy buddies tonight and try and catch up,with a break to watch The Big Bang Theory of course,as it's the last in the series.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 64 Quotations

I decided to make this Criss Cross Card using the tutorial HERE on SCS.After making up the size stated I decided it was a bit on the small side so added and extra inch on to the measurements.I've coloured Miss Anya in with my Copic markers. The papers are from The Sweet Shoppe and called Persimmon. You may notice the are very similar to MME Bloom & Grow and are designed by the same person. So I can keep my MME papers to stroke and just print out these to've used my EK Success Flower punch to punch the flowers from the same papers....and yes I've crumpled them again (you'll probably see me doing this loads and will get fed up seeing them!)The borders are a Sizzix die from the Hello Kitty range.I decided to use this lovely quote on my card and so it fitted in perfectly with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which was quotations.

This is a simple card I made for a friends birthday. She loves elephants,so I used a Little Claire elephant stamp and coloured it with my Copics.I used my Copic glitter pens to bling up the flowers a bit.The papers are one of my faves Daisy Buckets Little Black Dress.I've kept the card fairly simple (makes a change for me).Just added a bit of black organza ribbon and some little red flowers.

Well I'm off to try and finish a LO for my scrapbook class at Craftology on Monday. This is the last until after the summer.I don't really post them on here as I know most are cardmakers that pop by so I just stick them on my slide show.I really feel like just putting my feet up though as i'm knackered after doing Body, but I better give myself a shake and get it finished.

Mum's Birthday Card & Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Today is my mum's birthday,so as she's a lady of elder years, she wouldn't appreciate a cutesy card really so did a vintage again.I know she loves this style of card so went with it for her birthday card.I made a few Mother's Day cards in a similar style way back in March as some of you may have seen from previous blog posts back then.I really had a ball with the distressing, using my files and inking with my Distress inks, crumpling and tearing and generally getting in a'm entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenge which is "Let's Craft With Tim" or "inspired by Tim." I'm not sure if mine qualifies as it's only got the sentiment and swirls stamped, but I definitely went wild with the distressing.
I used Stampin' Up designer papers and crumpled them up quite a bit and then opened it back out and inked all the creases with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.I used a recycled piece of corrugated cardboard and cut it to the size of the card which is 8x8 and then tore a hole in the middle and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.The image is from a disc of vintage ladies which I printed onto Safmat (again) and applied to some card.I then distressed the edges and again applied Tea Dye.The swirls are Rhonna Farrer Autumn Leaves stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia. The corner papers are Sandylion music score which I again distressed and inked and stamped the swirls. The sentiment is stamped on recycled packing paper and mounted on card to make it more firm. The letters are American Craft Thickers sponged with both Distress inks and lightly dusted with Ranger Perfect Pearls as are the flowers and butterfly. My mum loved it so I'm

Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Weather Theme

*** might need shades for this card as it's bright***

I had already coloured this Miss Anya in as I'd received them from the USA last week and had planned on posting it.It just so happened it fitted in nicely with the theme at Daring Cardmakers which was to be weather themed,so I thought I'd enter it for the challenge. The card is very bright colours and I thought the image would look fab with these gorgeous BoBunny Papers. They're again from the Bella Journee range and this collection is Tuscany..I must be getting brave cutting them all up.I've only had them for a year or
Sorry for the squiffy photo.I really need to practice more at better shots.

Copic Colour Challenge #15

I managed to get a card made in time for the Copic Colour Challenge this week.Last week I had the image coloured but didn't get time to make up a card with it so was determined to do it this week..This image I had coloured last week but only got round to making up the card last night. These were the colours we were to use.

I used the Gorjuss Girl from set 2 called "Bear Hug". I'm at the "coos tail" with these rubber stamps and also the Miss Anyas.I kept dithering on whether I really liked them or not,so by time I decide they're old

Just A Card

No challenge card this time, just a Gorjuss girl I had coloured in.I finally decided to use some papers I've had for quite a while and not wanted to cut up.They're BoBunny Bella Journee Santorini range. That shows how old they are.I bought 3 sets, the others being Tuscany and Eire.So as the papers were vivid red and blue,I coloured this Gorjuss girl in using those colours.I finally used a sizzix die I'd bought a while back to make the branch and flowers. The other bits are die cuts from the same Santorini range.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 11 sketch by Kathy

The challenge over at the Sugar Bowl was a sketch by Kathy and you were to include pearls.I decided to use my Basic Grey Wisteria pad instead of just looking at it and another Gorjuss girl too.Again I'm not quite happy with this, can't decide what it is (think I'm never happy with flowers I made by punching out the Wisteria papers and really crumpling them up.I think it gives a really good effect.( did some recently for a scrapbook LO and everyone thought they were fabric.
I rotated the sketch and have also included the pearls. Both in the centre of the flowers and also in the top left corner.I'm just back from Body Combat so off to relax for the rest of the evening and maybe finish another card that's nearly done.

Copic Colour Challenge #13 & Colour Create Week 16

I thought I'd combine the Copic Colour Challenge and Colour Create. The Copic Colour Challenge was to use a sketch by Maddy and Colour Create was to use the colours chosen by Kim which were Sky Blue,Tan and Ecru with the extra option of gloss, glitter or glaze.

I'm not sure about this card, something about it i'm not liking but not sure what.I was going to just leave it off the blog, but it's done so may as well post it.I'm also not sure if those little fairies are supposed to be male or female. They have what looks like dresses but I think they look like little

Altered Tin

Sally the girl at Craftology who does the jewellery classes asked me if I'd alter a tin for her to keep her glass beads in.She makes the beads herself and they are gorgeous as well as her jewellery pieces. In return she told me I could choose some beads and she made them up into a necklace for me with some crystals and pearls.
The box I painted with turquoise acrylic paint and covered with the beautiful BoBunny Alyssa
papers.Sally likes birds,so I stamped some from Personal Impressions and coloured with Copics and added one on each side.On the lid I added a cuttlebug embossed oval cut with my nesties.I coloured a Gorjuss girl with my Copics and mounted her on top.The letters are American Craft Thickers painted in turquoise and stickled.I wish I'd left them without the bling now.I gave it a couple of coats of mod podge and added the flowers and butterfly.

This is the gorgeous necklace Sally made for me.I think I got the best deal.

And a close up of her gorgeous glass beads.

I had hoped to try and do another challenge but haven't had time.I had to help my friend finish her wedding invites, alter this tin and finish the LO for my class on Monday. All are finished now so hopefully can get a card made.
