Vera Lane Studio - Smile

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Smile which is available from the Etsy shop.

I made this little card for my project this week. I used the Gel Press to make the background using the Tre Fiori stencil and Paperartsy Fresco Paint in Guacamole and Orchid. I then stamped the grid stamp from Visual Ingredients using Verdant versafine clair ink. Next I stamped the circles and script from Background Noise in Purple Delight versafine clair. I finished the background stamping with the numbers stamp from Background Noise in Nocturne black versafine clair.I finished the background with a piece of Janet's Wishy Washi tape and a doodled edge with my black fineliner.

I then coloured the Smile girl with my copic markers and added some highlights with my white gel pen. I fussy cut her out and added her to the background. To finish off I added the sentiment and doodled around the edge of it.

Vera Lane Studio - Learn To Fly

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring the new release this week called Learn To Fly which is available from the Etsy shop.

I spritzed my card panel with Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide sprays. I then spritzed with some water and moved the colours around until I was happy. I then stamped in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide using the grid stamp from the AALL & Create #404 Visual Ingredients by Janet.

I spritzed some Paperartsy Snowflake white paint with some water and splattered it over the panel. I finished the background by adding a doodled border with my white gel pen.

Next I moved onto my digi stamps. I coloured them with my copic markers and fussy cut them out. I added a piece of Janet's washi tape #18 Poets which I coloured with the same copic colours. I then adhered the girl and flowers to it.

I then added my sentiment and went round it in black. I placed the two birds at either side at the top. I then doodled black lines to make it look like the birds were holding the sign.

Vera Lane Studio - Marine Mammals

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an 8 inch double journal spread featuring the soft release this week called Marine Mammals which is available from the Etsy shop.

I decided to make the pages look like an aquarium.

I started by adding some Paperartsy Ice Blue acrylic paint to the pages using a baby wipe. I then added the Sky to the bottom half of the page and blended until I got the look I wanted. I then used the AALL & Create #87 Totally Dotty stencil and dabbed some Tumbled Glass distress oxide though it until I got the background bubble look I wanted. Next I used two different sized pen lids and dipped them in Snowflake white paint and stamped them randomly over the pages to look like more bubbles. I added some white gel pen highlights to them and not forgetting some white paint splats.

I then cut 4 strips of the Stamperia wood effect paper to size and blended some Vintage Photo distress oxide over them to age them a bit. I then glued them in place with gel medium. After that I added a thick layer of gel medium along the bottom of the aquarium and added some decorative sand.

Next I moved onto the printing and colouring of the images I wanted to use. I used the whale and narwhal from the Marine Mammals set, seaweed from the Mermen and Under The Sea sets, purple fish from Sakana, other fish and seashell from Ocean's 11. I coloured them with my copic markers and cut them out. Next I adhered them to my pages using gel medium. I printed out the sentiment from the Marine Mammals set and also decided to give the aquarium a name so went for OddysSea. Some black fineliner around the sentiments and a pearl to the large seashell and it was finished.

I was really pleased with how it turned out!

Vera Lane Studio - La Belle Vie

Happy Easter Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring La Belle Vie which is available from the Etsy shop.

I've made a little plaque from lollipop sticks for my project today. I glued 7 together at the back using 2 smaller lollipop sticks, and gave it a light wash of white acrylic paint.

I took my Twisted Citron distress oxide spray and gave it a few bursts over the plaque. I then used AALL & Create #103 Pebble Pile stencil and sponged lightly through it with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide. I then stamped #471 Scripted Ovals and the numbers from #338 Background Noise randomly in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Then added some Violet and White paint splatters using my Posca pens.

Next I cut a strip of white corrugated card and coloured it with some green copics to represent grass and adhered it across the plaque near the bottom.

I printed out the girl and multiples of her flowers and coloured them with my copics and cut them out. I added some white highlights with my gel pen.

I had some white mini fencing so cut it down and glued some of the flowers to the front of it. I then adhered it just above the grass on the right side. I then adhered the girl to the middle and the other flowers to the left. To finish off I doodled around the sentiment with my black fineliner and adhered it to the plaque.

Now just to display it in The Crafty Cabin!

Vera Lane Studio - Aviary

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Aviary which is available from the Etsy shop.

I started by adhering a piece of the Stamperia Blue Lands paper to fit my page. I then used the AALL & Create #37 Cracked Walls 1 stencil and stencilled using Liquitex light modelling paste in the top and bottom left corners.

Once it was dry I went over with a watered down white gesso. Just to tone down the papers and give an even texture.

Next I used some watered down Paperartsy Fresco paints in Ice Blue, Sky and Double Denim. Starting with the lightest just washing over the  texture paste and working towards the darkest shade. Also all around the outside so the darkest shade was at the edges. Once that was dry I used the Music part from the #75 Vocalist stamp set and stamped some randomly using Versafine Clair Nocturne. Then I stamped the grid stamp from #404 Visual Ingredients around the edges. I finished off the stamping with #304 heartfelt using Salty Ocean DO and added some white splatters with my white paint pen.

I then coloured in my image and 4 of the birds using my copic markers, added some highlights with a white gel pen and cut them out.

I added a piece of  #8 Fledgling washi tape and adhered my girl to it. I then adhered the birds. To finish off I added the sentiment and outlined with black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - Bunny Kisses

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Bunny Kisses which is available from the Etsy shop.

I brayered my card using Paperartsy Fresco paints in Frosty and Peppermint greens and also Sherbet pink. I then brayered some Snowflake white onto the AALL & Create #116 Tre Fiore stencil by Janet. Next I spritzed it with some water and placed it on the background. I smoothed it down and held it in place for a minute then removed the stencil.

After that I used the circles from the #22 Human stencil and applied some Liquitex light modelling paste which I added some of the green and pink paint to, so it would coordinate. After it dried I used the stencil again and dabbed some Snowflake white paint through it with a sponge.

When it had all dried I stamped using #304 Heartfelt, #352 Circled numbers and the script from #338 Backround Noise randomly over the page using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Some white splatters using my paint pen to finish it off.
I added two pieces of washi tape and adhered the girls on them. Finally I added the sentiment and ran my black fineliner around it.
Aren't they just the sweetest little bunnies?

Vera Lane Studio - Belle Âme

 Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an altered gift bag featuring Belle Ame which is available in the Etsy shop.

I tore some script paper and kraft card I had and glued it randomly on the bag. One of the pieces of kraft card I ran through my Marvy paper crimper tp give the corrugated effect.

I applied some white gesso around all the ripped edges to soften the look. I then applied some Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to my glass mat and spritzed some water on them, I then used a brush and applied the colours randomly over the gesso and edges of bag.

I stamped using the grid from Visual Ingredients in Ground Espresso. I then stamped using the bubble wrap in Vintage Photo. Script from Background Noise in Vintage Photo and finished off the stamping using a pen lid and some Snowflake white Paperartsy paint.

Next I splattered with paint from my Posca pens in White, Brown and Gold

I adhered a strip of canvas and some jute ribbon.

Once I had coloured my image with all E number Copics, apart from her gold flower eyelashes and star, I adhered her above the canvas. I used a Dark Brown     Zig watercolour pen and ran around her edges to add shadow. I also did the same with the stars which were punched out of kraft and paint splattered.

To finish off I added the sentiment and doodled around it with my black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - 99% Angel

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an 6x6 journal page featuring 99% Angel which is available in the Etsy shop.

I brayered some Paperartsy Haystack coloured paint onto my page. I then toned it down in bits using Snowflake white. I used one of the circles from #404 Visual Ingredients and stamped it in the top left corner with Versafine Clair Cheerful to look like a sun. I used the little raindrop like stamp to add the rays. I then second generation stamped the other circle stamp in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide. I also stamped the little semi circles stamp in Cheerful.

Next I used the cloud looking stamp from #211 Count On You and stamped it in Frayed Burlap randomly on the page. I then used #352 Circled numbers and stamped parts of it using Fossilised Amber DO.

I coloured in my images with my copic markers and cut them out. I added the clouds to the page. I then added some white paint splatters using my tombow white paint pen. Next I added my image and sentiment to finish off

Vera Lane Studio - Neapolitan Birthday Girl

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 6x6 journal page, featuring Birthday Girl who is available in the Etsy shop.

I've gone with a Neapolitan Birthday Girl as I wanted the page the colour of Neapolitan Ice Cream. Is it a flavour that's available all over the world? I really don't know! I just remember it coming in a long cardboard carton when I was wee and my mum sliced it into portions.

I used Paperartsy Fresco Paints in Toffee and Sherbet in opposite corners on my gelli plate and brayered them out.I also added little patches of Dina Wakley Magenta paint. I then applied the AALL and Create #79 Sputnik stencil to it and pressed it down into the layer of paint. I then removed it and allowed it to dry. I then applied a thin layer of the Vanilla to pull the print.

I stamped the grid from the AALL And Create #404 Visual Elements stamp set with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide over the background. I then stamped one of the circle stamps from the same set in Picked Raspberry and Ground Espresso. I finished by stamping the #434 Newsprint Numbers in Picked Raspberry. Some white paint splats to finish.

I then coloured the images with my copics in matching colours adding white highlights with my gel pen, and cut them out. I added some washi tape and then adhered my images to the page. I doodled in the balloon strings with my black fineliner and added some glossy accents to make them shiny. Finally I added the Celebrate sentiment.

Now I'm craving some Neapolitan ice cream!

Vera Lane Studio - My Favourite Colour Is Rainbow

 Happy New Year!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a journal page, featuring the girl from the Cheers set and the umbrella from the Big Game set. I widened the umbrella slightly in Word.

I've gone for another tone on tone page apart from the pop of colours on the umbrella. I coloured the image with my copic markers adding highlights with my white gel pen. I fussy cut the image out and placed to one side

For my background I blended some Lucky Clover Distress Oxide onto my card using my blending brushes. I then blended some Black Soot Distress Oxide around the edges.

Next I stamped the AALL And Create #443 Scripted Circles stamp all over the background using Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide. I stamped AALL And Create #352 Circled numbers in Black Soot Distress Oxide randomly around the edges. Next I stamped the numbers from the ALL And Create #211 Count On You stamp set in Lucky Clover Distress Oxide randomly over the background.

I used the lid off a pen and some Paperartsy Fresco Acrylic paint in Snowflake White and stamped some white circles over the background. After that I used some Goosebumps clear texture spray and sprayed in areas over the background. It dried with glossy patches like puddles and tiny drops, giving a watery effect. To finish off the background I added some white paint splatters with my Molotow white acrylic paint pen.

I added a little strip of torn washi tape and adhered my image above it. To finish off I added the "My Favourite Colour Is Rainbow" sentiment.

Vera Lane Studio - Baby It's Cold Outside

Happy Boxing Day!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Dog Lover which is available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I had this lovely textured card with a snow blizzard effect. I stamped with AALL and Create #80 Lined and #307 Overlapping Texture randomly around the edge using Versafine Clair Morning Mist. I also stamped #307 Overlapping Texture in Paperarty Snowflake white paint in some random areas too. I inked around the edges first with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide and then with Black Soot. I stamped the number stamp in #338 Background Noise with Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I used the white Molotow acrylic paint pen to create splatters over the panel. I then stamped one of the paint splats from #338 Background Noise in Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I coloured my image and dog using my copic markers in shades of grey and black, adding texture to her scarf and hat. I also added textured to the "doodle" dog. Some white gel pen highlights to finish off.

I then adhered them in place on the stamped paint splat.. Finally I added my PC printed sentiment and doodled around the edge with my black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - Not Driving Home For Christmas

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring 3 sets which are available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I wanted to make a bright Christmas coloured project and inject a bit of humour. Goodness knows we need some after the year we've had. I decided to use the Chris Rea song Driving Home For Christmas or as in the case may be, Not Driving Home For Christmas depending on local travelling and visiting restrictions.

I've used the car from the Wheels set, the girl from New Day and the tree from Merry.

I know it's not the typical American red truck but I love this little red car so added the tree on top. The girl from New Day looks like she's shaking her finger and saying "no" so I thought she would be perfect.

I brayered red, white and green acrylic paint onto my gelli plate and pressed down onto it with some bubble wrap to add some texture. I then used Vanilla acrylic paint to lift the print. I then stamped AALL And Create #399 Framework Elements in Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide and #352 Circled Numbers in Festive Berries. Next I stamped #434 Newsprint Numbers in Versafine Clair Nocturne black.  I then used the top of two pen lids and stamped circles in Snowflake white.

Next I adhered my images and added some doodling below them with my black fineliner. I added the word Journey from the AALL And Create washi tape in the top left corner and then printed out my sentiment, underlining the word NOT in red. I finished by adding this to my project.

I loved making this tongue in cheek scene and hope it brought a smile to your face.

Vera Lane Studio - Parrot Love

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Parrot Love which is available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I used my Gelli plate to make my background. It was inspired by a Tracy Evans Facebook Live I watched to create the 4 quarters.

I added red acrylic paint to one quarter of the gelli plate and brayered it. I then put the stencil on top and patted down with scrap paper to remove excess paint. I did the same with each quarter alternating between the red and the Paperartsy Fresco Double Denim blue paint. I then lifted the print using Paperartsy Fresco Honeydew.

I random stamped the AALL and Create #262 Mesh stamp using Candied Apple Distress Oxide, and then #304 Heartfelt using Versafine Clair Paradise. I then splattered some Molotow white acrylic paint over it all and finished off by dabbing some Paperartsy Fresco Snowflake white paint around the edges.

Next I coloured my images with my copic markers adding some white highlights with my gel pen. I added some AALL and Create plain washi tape under where I wanted the branches to go and stamped with the #304 heartfelt stamp again. I adhered the branches and drew a line between them for one of the parrots to perch on. I then added the other parrots. I used another piece of plain washi tape I'd stamped on and added the girl and her parrot to this.

I finished off by adding the sentiment from the stamp set.

Vera Lane Studio - Merry

I'm so excited to be sharing my first official post as a member of the Vera Lane Studio DT.

I've made this postcard using the cute set called Merry which is available in the Vera Lane Studio Etsy shop.

I splattered some Paperartsy Fresco Snowflake white paint on my gelli plate and then applied a coat of Ice Blue. I then stamped on it using AALL and Create Background Noise #338 by Janet. I then lifted the print using more Snowflake.

Once it was dry I printed the sheet music lightly in one corner. (It's Frosty The Snowman!)

Next I stamped the background with AALL and Create sets #339 Framework Elements, #304 Heartfelt and #352 Circled Numbers all by Tracy Evans.

I coloured the images with my Copic Markers and adhered them to the postcard, adding some AALL and Create Plain Washi tape below them.

To finish off I added some clear Wink Of Stella to the images to add some sparkle.
