Teachers Thank You Card

This is the card I've made for Louis to give to his teacher as school stops for the Summer Holidays on Friday.(some summer!!)
It's a tatty teddy stamp, coloured with copic markers. The papers are Tim Holtz. Can't remember what make the stitch embossing folder is.I had to make 4 as Louis has a few teachers.I just kept them all the same though. No favouritism!...lol

Hope the weather brightens up a bit tomorrow as I'm off to Murrayfield to see Bon Jovi!

The flowers I made using a Spellbinders die called Carnation Creations.

I'm hopefully going to Damselfly Crafts tomorrow to meet up with a couple of bloggy buddies.Looking forward to it.

Simply Sassy

Made this card a few weeks back. It's one of the fabby Simply Sassy range from Sugar Nellie.Krista the artist has some fantastic images and they've been made into rubber stamps which are just a dream to colour. It's an odd shaped card as it was originally an 8x8 scalloped but I cut the top and bottom scallops off as I'd originally planned to enter it in a sketch challenge a few weeks ago,but as usual never got it posted in time. The gorgeous papers are Nitwits, but not the digi download ones. These I bought last summer in my yearly pilgrimage to Sugar Nellie's bricks and mortar shop in Elgin

Rockdude

This is a card I was asked to make by my friend Stu for his best friend's birthday. They're both rockdude's and play guitar so I decided to use this Kenny K digi image called Rock Dude.
I wanted the card to look like ripped jeans,so used denim effect paper and ripped a hole in it where I stamped the sentiment. I used my Zutter Distrezz-It-All around all the edges. I love this gadget as it saves time and can do more than one sheet at a time. I used my white highlighter pen to do the faux stitches.Added the little pocket and the music charm. Simples!

I'm also delighted to receive an award from Shazza at a Time To Craft. I've not been blogging for a while but Shazza always visits and comments. If not here on Facebook. So I can't thank her enough.

There are a couple of conditions for the award.

You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light,so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers

I'm just going to post a few blogs as I look at so many but just want to highlight these as they always leave comments on my blog, even if I've been gone a while

Where Did 2010 Go?

Well to be honest I'm glad to see the back of 2010. My lack of blogging was due to having an "Annus Horriblus" as HRH would say. I caught the winter vomiting bug last January and it all went downhill from there. It took weeks to recover from that and it left me with constant dizziness which is a nightmare. It has such an impact on your life. Eventually in July my GP started me on tablets to stop the dizzy spells and referred me to an ENT surgeon.. Then in August my mum passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. That was a nightmare too. She'd only been in hospital for little less than 48 hours and had been expected to get home. So we had to wait on a Post Mortem which the Procurator Fiscal demanded. It took 11 days as they were behind. It had been a Pulmonary Embolism as the cause of death. Devastated was not the word for it. So coming to terms with that and the dizziness, plus the fact we're trying to sell our house,it's been very stressful. I finally saw the ENT surgeon just before Christmas, who said the winter vomiting virus had affected my inner ear and caused Labyrinthitis which had then become vertigo and can take months to recover from.Well it was the best part of a year for me.

Anyway enough rambling from me. As you can tell from my blog posts I'd only managed to make a few cards last year. The last one posted a few days before my mum died. All my craft stuff is packed up just now while we try and sell up. I've started to feel a bit more like crafting now and have been looking out some bits and pieces so I can try and make some cards. I'll try and get them posted. It may be a bit hit and miss for the immediate future or else they'll all look much the same with limited supplies...lol.

Here's hoping 2011 is a better year.

Jannhild got the original instructions HERE.It's made using circle nesties and scallops.I found it a bit fiddly but worth the effort. The little cover inside opens like a little card to write your greetings in.I'll probably stamp something on it to welcome a new baby.

Yes another card post from me.It's like a bus, nothing then they all come along at once, and it's NOT one of my cards for the demo weekend. This one I made yesterday. It's very pink and girly which is nothing like me...lol. I used the gorgeous new Papermania Henbury Lane collection. They really are beautiful colours and lots of them are glittered. Both the papers I used were glittered so I went the whole road and glittered anything that sat still long enough, including round the image, the punched branches, the roses and the nestie frame and corner. Summer Ice Cream

Well it's certainly not summer here yet,but I've used this adorable image from Sugar Nellie to make this card. It's another card I made for the demo weekend.Gorgeous MME Quite Contrary papers again.I saw this style of card a while back on a blog but can't remember where. The front of the card has been cut down to half size (not sure if it has a name). Anyway I thought I'd give it a go and was quite pleased with it. Unfortunately my sewing machine threw a hissy fit and I had to finish up hand sewing the card.Sorry about the photos, but it was a really sunny afternoon. First Of Demo Cards

Well I should have some cards to post over the next few days.I can finally post my demo day cards. I don't think I've ever made so many cards in such a short space of time.I'll be surprised if my mojo hasn't gone walkabout again.
I'll start with the most popular card from the weekend. It's the lovely Post Box stamp from Sugar Nellie and coloured with Copics and using the scrummy MME Quite Contrary papers.I love the bright fresh colours of this.I used the Martha Stewart Garden Trellis punch and tried the make it look like a little fence at the front of the easel card.I finally got round to using those cute little flower pots I'd bought ages ago and never knew what to use them for. I used distress inks around the outside of the image too.

The lovely embossed border the ribbon is threaded through is a Marianne Creatable.

Apologies

Hi folks, sorry for not being around for quite a while, but I'd been unwell for a while and I'd also just lost the enthusiasm for doing any crafting. My craft stuff has been packed up since Christmas and I'd only made one card in January.I only just made my first card in all that time last week.I probably won't be posting regularly but will when I have something to show. For that reason as the message above states,I've disabled commenting (at least I hope I have if it worked). I hope you'll still pop by now and again as i'll certainly be visiting and looking at your lovely work.I just felt before too much of my time was getting taken up commenting on blogs.
I've got a demo weekend next weekend at my local craft store Craft World (previously known as Craftology) so have had card samples to make up for that,so can hopefully share them after the demo. I've had 10 lovely Sugar Nellies to play with and colour and gorgeous papers from BoBunny and MME,so that gave me the kick up the backside to get crafting again.I'll be demoing copic markers so please pop by and say hello if you'll be going.
Thanks again

Card For A Special Lady

Sorry I've been MIA for the last week, but I've been really busy what with,Halloween parties, getting my scrapbook class sorted and doing commissioned cards,I've had no time to do much else.I didn't even know I'd won the Sketch Saturday challenge from last week, until I saw the message from Sharon. So thanks Sharon for letting me know.
I also had a card to make for a special lady.I know she's already received the card so I can post it.My good friend and bloggy buddy Kath has her birthday today. So pop over to her fantastic blog and wish her a happy day.Kath makes the most amazing cards. For my card I actually did cut up my beloved Melissa Frances papers.I've stroked them lovingly for a long time, but decided that the time had come to use them.Believe you me,only Kath was worth the cutting...lol.I find them really hard to get here and I just adore them. The image is from a Stampin'Up Hostess Set called Oh,So Lovely.I stamped the background
mesh a few times and then masked the main flower and stamped it a few times at different levels.Coloured with copic markers.I also hand stitched (gasp!) round the edge of the card, after using my Cutter Bee Bug of course to make the holes.

Miss Anya

This anya image i've had coloured for a wee while,in fact the whole card has been made up apart from the sentiment.I don't know about anyone else but the sentiment is always the bit I hate doing the most.I don't know why,but it's always the last bit to get done and quite a lot of the time I have cards sitting around just waiting on the sentiment to be put on.
This is a miss anya from the dressy set.I think this is a really pretty image. For some reason I picture her talking with a Southern American drawl.Or maybe that's just because I've been reading the True Blood series of books and watching the show.....lol.
Anyway, enough waffling. She's been coloured with copics and I've used the scrummy Doodlebug papers that I'd been hoarding and looking at for a few months.

Took Louis to see the Pixar movie Up yesterday which he loved (so did I),and tomorrow he starts swimming lessons which he's looking forward too.He just wants to be able to wear goggles and go underwater...lol.I've done a bit of crafting but have been busy with my nose stuck in a book reading.I don't read for ages and then I can't get enough of them.I finished the Twilight series a few weeks ago and watched the movie.I know...way behind everyone else.I'm really enjoying the True Blood series of books though and am now on book 3.Dream Theater were fantastic on sunday night (as were Opeth).Looking forward to Black Stone Cherry on Saturday night.I saw them as support to Def Leppard and Whitesnake a few years ago,but this is them headlining this time.I'm getting such a groupie in my old age...lol

Angel Wishes

Wooohoooo I've managed to do a challenge card with plenty of time to spare instead of missing the deadline, and it's my second card in a couple of days. That must be a record for me...lol.
There's a fab sketch by Tiets over at The Sugar Bowl so I inked up my new Angel Wishes stamp from Sugar Nellie. She's so pretty.I've used my X-cut snowflake punches and layered them up and sprinkled with loads of Glamour Dust and added a Papermania shimmer dot to the centre of each.I love the effect of them both layered.
I've used my Cutter Bee Bug again to do the piercing round the edge and again it's just the single row.I really love this wee tool.I've also embossed the circle with the snowflake embossing folder and sanded it back,it's not showing very well though.I think I need to be using 8x8 cards as I struggle to fit everything on...lol

Card For Mia

I apologise in advance to anyone who doesn't use Twitter as I may sound like I've totally cracked in this post....lol.I use Twitter and I saw a Tweet (well it was a retweet actually) from Rick Allen the drummer from Def Leppard. It was for people to send cards to a little girl in the USA who has Crohn's Disease to cheer her up.How could I refuse the Thundergod's tweet,he's just amazing,an inspiration and from my favourite band of all time.Hence the blog title name. This is the organisation behind the plea if anyone is interested A FiveOh4 Uplifting.
So here's the card I made for Mia.It should be arriving in the USA any day now.I made a matching box for it too but haven't put the picture on.
I used the Gorjuss girl with the little star as children who have to endure lots of hospital time are just that...Little Stars.Although my little boy Louis has special needs he's healthy and never had to be in hospital thankfully.

Christmas Manga Girl

I've finally gotten over having the cold, just a few sniffles left.Thank goodness as I've got loads to do this week.I've got a LO to do for my scrapbook class on Monday and a birthday party to organise for tomorrow. It was Louis 6th birthday on Tuesday and he's having his party tomorrow.I collected his cake today and was at the cash and carry last night getting food and sweeties.I'd already ordered all the plates, cups and napkins online,so tomorrow will be busy. He's having it at a local soft play centre.A room full of excited 6 year old...the joys........
Anyway back to posting a card.I've not done much crafting as I wasn't feeling very well but managed to rustle this up using one of the new Sugar Nellie Christmas Manga stamps. It was supposed to be for the Sugar Bowl challenge, but didn't realise it finished yesterday so I missed it (again). You can click on the photo for a better view as I have to resize them due to their size, and you'll hopefully see all the bling.

Demo Weekend At Craftology

Craftology had a demo weekend last weekend.Twelve demonstrators demonstrating different techniques.I was doing the Copic Marker demo and it was fab to see my lovely bloggy buddy Lorraine doing the Sakura pens.We had a fantastic day and were well looked after with food and drinks. We were demoing in part of what's to be their new shop as they're taking over new premises which are absolutely huge. What's online is a tiny fraction of what they have in store.
I had some quick sample cards to make up so thought I'd share some them with you.Hope you don't get too bored with them. This is a long post...lol.I'll do half of them as there's quite a few.

First up were the Christmas Fairy Doodle's.

Papers from a Kars Paper pack

Papers are Doodlebug
Snowflakes are 2 new X- Cut punches layered up

Papers again from Kars Paper pack

Papers are BoBunny that I glittered with Glamour Dust

Hope you're still awake...lol

Birthday Blog Candy

*****Blog Candy Is Now Closed*****
Thank you to everyone who entered and good luck.I'll be back tomorrow to announce the winner.

As today is my birthday I've decided to offer some blog candy.I know vintage and shabby chic are popular in cardmaking,so I've put in goodies that are suitable for this style.I meant to have this up on my blog a few weeks ago and make the draw today,so instead I'll start it today and let it run until the 8th of September when I'll make the draw.

Included in the candy is:
1 x set of Darkroom Door rubber stamps (Melody)
1 x K&Co Paper Pad (Ancestry)
5 x Sheets of Panduro Paper
1x Martha Stewart Edge Punch (Scallop Dot)
2x Rhonna Farrer Swirl Stamps
1x Tin of Prima Forever Flowers Pink Hydrangeas
1x Pack of Blue Flowers
1x Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink (Old Paper)
5x Sheets Of Vintage Glittered Rub On Pictures
1x Ranger Ice Stickles (Crystal Ice)
1x Deco Art Glamour Dust (Crystal)
1x Pack Kanban Diamonds & Pearls
1x Pack Metal Filigree Accents
9x Bunches of Roses
3x Lengths of Lace
A selection of Ribbon Bows
I also might have another Gorjuss little surprise to add to it too if I can.

**Edited** Included is a 16"x20" print of Heather and Her Thistle by the Gorjuss lady herself Suzanne Woolcott.I had ordered a canvas wrap of the image and they sent the print instead. So after receiving my canvas I was told I could keep the print too,so I have to thank them very much for being so kind.
This is the little lady included.

To be eligible I'd like you to link to it and to leave me a comment on what your favourite rock song is.It's that simple.I'll hopefully try and pin this to the top if I can get it to work...lol

Card For Amy

My matey Stu asked me to make a card for his friend's little girls 1st birthday. He chose the Gorjuss girl image himself from my many...lol.I have to thank him for taking the picture too as I posted it off to him without taking any myself....dooohhh.That wasn't the first time either.....lol.
It's based on the Sugar Bowl sketch from a week or so ago,but as usual I didn't get it uploaded on time.Must try to get more organised.(hahaha) I also made a matching box to go with it.

Image - Gorjuss Girl Little Miss Attitude coloured with Copic Markers
Cardstock - Bazzill
Papers - All Doodlebug (apart from yellow bit under the name which is Imaginisce)
Letters and Rubons - Doodlebug
Border Punch - Fiskars Lace
Pearls - Kanban
Flowers, spacers, ribbon and brads - from stash

On the subject of Gorjuss girls.I ordered a Gorjuss girl canvas wrap which was to be a present from my mum for my birthday. It arrived today, but it was only a print, not a canvas.I was so looking forward to it too.I've had to email them about it,so will have to wait until I hear from them.Fingers crossed it all gets sorted soon.

**Update on Canvas***
Gorjuss girl canvas arrived safe and well this afternoon.Phewwwww

Two Cards Received

Just thought I'd share these two cards with you.One was for Louis from Kath's gorgeous crafty chum Buddy along with a parcel with some pencils and sweets in it.Needless to say the sweets didn't last long enough to photograph.

Next is a gorgeous Post It Note holder I got from my lovely friend Tina along with a little notecard and all in a beautiful matching box.

The pictures don't do them justice even though I treated myself to a new camera. After being undecided for months I finally went for the Canon EOS 450D.Not sure my cards will improve but hopefully the pictures will.....lol.Just need to get myself to some photography classes and learn how to use it...hehe.
I'm also in the process of getting some blog candy together as it's my birthday next week.I had hoped to have it all organised sooner than this, but as usual I'm at the coos tail.Louis went back to school today so I might get some time back for crafting. For now I better scoot as I've got a Body Pump class shortly.

Back From My Hols

Hi folks I'm back from my hols and been busy painting. Not the arty type. The roller and emulsion type.I'm up to my eyes in it and still got a bit to do.Haven't been doing much crafty wise but have a few cards I can share.I spent a fair few ££££ on holiday on crafty stuff as I visited Funkykits shop in Elgin (Papercrafts Boutique) and the lovely Simply Create in Alford, where I met up with my fabby bloggy buddy Kath again. We had a great crafty gab with Jacqui the owner of Simply Create. It was a fantastic afternoon and was over way too soon. This is the card I made for Kath.I know she loves Penny Black images and MME Bloom and Grow papers so used both on the card.

Image - Penny Black Hanging On (Discontinued I think)coloured with Copics
Cardstock - Bazzill
Papers - MME Bloom And Grow
Sentiment - Papermania
Punches - EK Success Flower
Brads - Papermania Pearl and MME Bloom And Grow
Leaves - From My Local Florist Wholesaler (they were white and I coloured them with copics)

I also made a treat bag for Buddy but forgot to take a picture of it.

I also want to thank Sharon for a lovely blog award she left for me while I was on holiday.Thank you so much Sharon I really appreciate it.
I'm supposed to pass this on to some bloggy buddies, but most will have it so I'm going to nominate only one blog. It's for a lady who has just started off her blog and is a very special friend of mine.We met through the Docrafts forum. She's also just landed a DT position with Stampin Chic and no one deserves it more.So this award is going to Tina at Rainbird's Ramblings.Pop over and give her a big bloggy welcome and see her fabulous cards.

I'll hopefully get some blog hopping done tonight, well at least a start of it and catch up with all your lovely crafty creations.I've missed seeing them all.
