Luv a Latte

Have been meaning to blog this card for the last few days and finally got round to it. I coloured the image when I was visiting Susan. I took Louis over for a few hours to play with her two boys. She's called Luv A Latte and is a Simply Sassy stamp from Sugar Nellie. She's coloured with Copics (no surprises there)

The papers are MME.Sentiment is SU Oh So Many Sayings and is stamped inside the punched out area using the SU Word Window punch. The other punch is a Martha Stewart punch around the page.Buttons and pearls from stash.

Finally got the electrics fitted in the cabin. Was out today and chose the light fitting for it.Just need to get some flooring then it's off to Ikea to kit it out!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 63

I've had this gorgeous Simply Sassy stamp coloured and the SU papers picked out to match for ages but never got round to making the card. So I decided to use Erika's fab sketch over at The Sugar Bowl and finally get the card made. The flowers were made using the Peony nesties and the middles are just little bits of twine made into little circles. The tag is cut from a Go Kreate die. As always it's coloured with Copic markers.

I'm off to try and finish another card I've got half finished and hopefully get it blogged soon.
As I mentioned I'm entering this card into The Sugar Bowl Challenge.

Sugar Nellie Manga Princess

Sugar Nellie manga princess coloured with copic markers. The papers are the gorgeous GCD Ella Bleu which I finally cut up.They're a gorgeous linen texture. Used my nesties. The swirls are a Sizzix die.The flowers are Prima and from stash.

I'm hoping postie arrives with my copic refills from Cult Pens today,as I've run out of one of my skin tones. They'll all be looking pale or else like they've been tangoed.

I'm going to enter this into the Stamp With Fun Challenge as the colours are blue-brown.

Sketch Saturday

Another challenge with this card.I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday - Sketch #74.I've used some artistic license with it to fit with my card, but in all follows pretty much the sketch. It's also a first for me as I don't make Halloween cards generally, but saw this image on a blog called Wendy's Digital Doodling and thought it was cute and it was also a free download.

Miss Anya

This anya image i've had coloured for a wee while,in fact the whole card has been made up apart from the sentiment.I don't know about anyone else but the sentiment is always the bit I hate doing the most.I don't know why,but it's always the last bit to get done and quite a lot of the time I have cards sitting around just waiting on the sentiment to be put on.
This is a miss anya from the dressy set.I think this is a really pretty image. For some reason I picture her talking with a Southern American drawl.Or maybe that's just because I've been reading the True Blood series of books and watching the show.....lol.
Anyway, enough waffling. She's been coloured with copics and I've used the scrummy Doodlebug papers that I'd been hoarding and looking at for a few months.

Took Louis to see the Pixar movie Up yesterday which he loved (so did I),and tomorrow he starts swimming lessons which he's looking forward too.He just wants to be able to wear goggles and go underwater...lol.I've done a bit of crafting but have been busy with my nose stuck in a book reading.I don't read for ages and then I can't get enough of them.I finished the Twilight series a few weeks ago and watched the movie.I know...way behind everyone else.I'm really enjoying the True Blood series of books though and am now on book 3.Dream Theater were fantastic on sunday night (as were Opeth).Looking forward to Black Stone Cherry on Saturday night.I saw them as support to Def Leppard and Whitesnake a few years ago,but this is them headlining this time.I'm getting such a groupie in my old age...lol

Final Teacher's Card

This is the last card for Louis teachers. This one is for his class teacher who is retiring.I've used a Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamp of the little boy artist but didn't ink up the handprints on the board.I decided to write the sentiment on there instead. The little boy is so like Louis with his curls....lol.I'm glad to get them all finished.

A Blonde A Brunette And A Redhead for Friday Sketchers 57

Well I already had these 3 cards made up for Louis teachers, they were just missing the sentiments and noticed they fitted in with the Friday Sketchers sketch if I flipped it,so I hope that's allowed.I made them all the same layout and just coloured them differently. One is a blonde, one a brunette and one a redhead, like the 3 teachers....lol.And yes....those flowers again.I promise I'll give them a miss for a while.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 64 Quotations

I decided to make this Criss Cross Card using the tutorial HERE on SCS.After making up the size stated I decided it was a bit on the small side so added and extra inch on to the measurements.I've coloured Miss Anya in with my Copic markers. The papers are from The Sweet Shoppe and called Persimmon. You may notice the are very similar to MME Bloom & Grow and are designed by the same person. So I can keep my MME papers to stroke and just print out these to use...lol.I've used my EK Success Flower punch to punch the flowers from the same papers....and yes I've crumpled them again (you'll probably see me doing this loads and will get fed up seeing them!)The borders are a Sizzix die from the Hello Kitty range.I decided to use this lovely quote on my card and so it fitted in perfectly with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which was quotations.

Well today was a busy day.Louis had his school sports day and I had my last scrapbook class until September. To top it all off we had a power cut about 6pm tonight and the power didn't go back on until just before 11pm.Just as well I was out at my class. No TV or internet as router was off.Felt like my arm was missing not being online...lol

Copic Colour Challenge #15

I managed to get a card made in time for the Copic Colour Challenge this week.Last week I had the image coloured but didn't get time to make up a card with it so was determined to do it this week..This image I had coloured last week but only got round to making up the card last night. These were the colours we were to use.

I used the Gorjuss Girl from set 2 called "Bear Hug". I'm at the "coos tail" with these rubber stamps and also the Miss Anyas.I kept dithering on whether I really liked them or not,so by time I decide they're old news....lol.

Hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather.

Copic Colour Challenge #13 & Colour Create Week 16

I thought I'd combine the Copic Colour Challenge and Colour Create. The Copic Colour Challenge was to use a sketch by Maddy and Colour Create was to use the colours chosen by Kim which were Sky Blue,Tan and Ecru with the extra option of gloss, glitter or glaze.

I'm not sure about this card, something about it i'm not liking but not sure what.I was going to just leave it off the blog, but it's done so may as well post it.I'm also not sure if those little fairies are supposed to be male or female. They have what looks like dresses but I think they look like little boys....lol

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 10 sketch by Marlene

Another first for me on the challenge front.First time entering The Sugar Bowl challenge which was a sketch by the fabulous Marlene.
This poor little gorjuss girl,I really feel sorry for her.I hadn't stamped her properly and was really only getting used as a practice with my Copics to try and do the colour black.I was short of C9 so she's more grey than black. She also looks in colour how I felt the other day while colouring her.I was feeling miserable and it was dark and rainy outside,so she got the grey look. Needless to say C9 and a few other Copics into my shopping cart soon cheered me up...lol.
Anyway,I had bought Daisy Buckets scrummy Little Black Dress papers in my local craft shop so decided she wasn't just going to be for a practice. So after I touched in the bits I'd misstamped with my copic fineliner and coloured her she got pride of place on the card.I think she's got
slightly more lace holes in her petticoat than should be,but nevermind.I kept her colouring totally monochrome even on her face which is slightly greyed, and the little fox is now of the Arctic variety...lol.The buttons are cut from a Sizzix Die and covered in glossy accents with some floss threaded through,so I hope they count.....lol
Enough waffling for now,I've got loads to do today as my friend's coming tonight to finish off her wedding invites and I've got a demo weekend ahead at my local craft shop,so apologies for not having blog hopped much .I'll try and pop round when I get a minute.

Copic Colour Challenge #10

Well I decided to enter the Copic Colour Challenge again as I need to practise more with my Copics.I really struggled with the colours as what image to use and the Prussian Blue (B39) was very dark.I think I managed to sneak a little bit down the side of the vase. The card is quite CAS for me as I like to add lots of embellishments but thought it suited the image to keep it simple. The stamp was a bit of a pain too as it's not very detailed with the flowers so you've got to add the flower definition yourself. It probably lends itself better to being watercoloured. These are the colours we had to use.

This is my card

Copic Colour Challenge #9

The Copic Colour Challenge this week was to use the following colours.

Well I've never ever done a challenge before and so I'm right in at the deep end with this one using Copics,as I've only had mine a few weeks and still getting to grips with them.I suppose this is the best way to learn though.I'd have never ever used these colours together but was surprised how lovely they went together.I'm not particularly happy with the colouring of this image as I found it a bit fiddly, but it's done now.

Gorjuss Girl And Copics

Here's my first Gorjuss Girl.I held off buying them because I've got a thing about no mouths (like Magnolias) but I made an exception with these as they've kind of grown on me (unlike Tildas!...lol)
I've got to thank the fabulous Rach for her Copic tutorial on her blog, which you can find HERE. She made the tutorial so easy to follow and look so easy, even though it's not.I learned more from her tutorial in a few hours than I did in a few weeks reading others. I'm happier with the colouring of this although I still need loads of practise.

I took Louis through to Edinburgh on the 'big' train yesterday and we popped up to the castle for a bit and then had a wee walk down the Royal Mile.It was absolutely FREEZING and we were lucky if we heard another Scottish/British accent. It was heaving with tourists. My camera wasn't working very well (I think the batteries were too cold...lol) so only got a few pics. Here's one of Louis anyway (posing as usual).

Found a little time to have a play with a few new stamps I got.Daisy with her pram by Sugar Nellie.I've also let loose my first Copic coloured image. My practice one was sent to the lovely Kerry for her birthday.
I've been busy trying to keep Louis amused as the weather has been lousy,so haven't had time to do much crafting or blog hopping.Hopefully tonight I'm going to have a good catchup with everyone.

A Bit Distressed......

Not quite sure who is more distressed, the card or me.I think I went a bit OTT and think it looks a bit manky looking. (Scottish for dirty). However it's done now and so will have to do.It was a rush job as usual.I had two Mother's Day cards to make. The other I finished tonight but haven't been able to take a pic as it's too dark now.
The picture was on a disc with loads of vintage images I got from my friend.I printed it out onto Letraset Safmat and stuck onto cream cardstock, then distressed it with my BG Precision Toolkit.I'm quite pleased with the result ,as I'd had the Safmat for about a year and never used it.The card is another 8x8 seeing as it's for a special occasion.
