Happy Saturday!
Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring this week's release called Sherlock Holmes which is available from the Etsy shop.
I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so I asked Janet if she would draw a Sherlock Holmes character and she didn't disappoint! (not that she ever does!)
I went with a small double journal spread. I smooshed Squeezed Lemonade, Rustic Wilderness and Vintage Photo spritzed with water over both pages until I got the look I was happy with. I also scribbled the Deep Yellow Ecoline pen on my glass mat and added some water. I used this to add some darker yellow areas.
I then stamped the #262 MESH stamp randomly over the pages using the same Oxide colours. Next I used the #456 Snippet Alphabet and stamped 221B (Baker Street) in Versafine Clair Nocturne a couple of times including off the page. I also added some question marks (Whodunnit?)
I then used one of the stamps from #211 Count On You and stamped it a few times. I then cut out some shoeprints on my ScanNCut and used them as a stencil. I sponged through with Black Soot.
I finished the background with some white paint splatters.
I then coloured and cut out Sherlock, Toby and one of the sentiments,
I printed out the dictionary definitio of detective and adhered it on the right page. I then added Sherlock and Toby just above it.
I finished the pages by adding the sentiment to the left hand page and doodling around it with my black fineliner.
