Vera Lane Studio - Chill

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is an A5 journal page featuring Chill which is available in the Etsy shop.

I trimmed a sheet of Snow Blizzard textured card with blue tones to A5. I used a card template shaped like and igloo and taped in place. I then used the AALL And Create #109 Superbly Square stencil and added some Distress texture paste through it. Once it had dried I moved the stencil and added some more in the gaps. I then lightly sketched down the edge to define the shape. It's an igloo with some artistic license!

I also added some texture paste along the bottom to look like snow.

Once it was all dried I stamped the circles from #338 Background Noise in Tumbled Glass oxide randomly over the card. I then did the same with one of the stamps from #404 Visual Ingredients in Salty Ocean.

Next I stamped the numbers from #338 Background Noise in Versafine Clair Nocturne. I then splattered some white paint from my Molotow white paint pen.

I coloured my images in using my copic markers and cut them out. I then adhered them to my page and added highlights with my white gel pen.

To finish off I printed the sentiment and doodled round it with my black fineliner.

Vera Lane Studio - New Dress (Boutique)

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring New Dress which is available in the Etsy shop.

I decided to make one of Janet's little rooms that she showed on a Facebook live last Sunday. It's pinned in the announcements in the group if you missed it.

I started with the floor and added a very light layer of Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide with my blending brush. Next I took the Lushly Leafy stencil and blended some more Hickory Smoke. This time I made it a bit darker and tried to keep it centred in the middle of the floor. I then doodled around it with my black fineliner so it looked like a rug.

I coloured my image with copic markers and cut her out and placed her to one side
I printed out some of the precoloured dresses and glued them to the floor adding coat hangers. She obviously didn't like those dresses as she's chucked them on the rug!

I did the walls next. I added some Wilted Violet,Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry DO's to my glass mat and spritzed with water. I then smooshed my walls in it to give a mottled look. I then took the Ring The Changes stencil and blended some Picked Raspberry through it. To finish the walls, I stamped #304 Heartfelt with Versafine Clair Purple Delight randomly in places.

I used the Windows set and printed out the door with the word Boutique added. I also stretched one of the windows to make it longer. I coloured them all grey and added silver mirror card behind the mirror. I adhered them to my room.

Next I used the Mid Century Modern set and printed out the chair and table. I stencilled the chair with Hickory Smoke to match the rug. I also printed out two of the plants from the Succulents set and a coffee mug and vase of flowers from the Coffee Love set.

To finish it off I doodled my own frame round the sentiment from the New Dress set and hung it on the wall like a picture.

These little rooms are so much fun and the possibilities are endless.

Vera Lane Studio - Pancake Day

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project featuring Pancake Day who is available in the Etsy shop.

I cut two circles out. One 7" and one 4"

I added some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide to my glass mat and spritzed with a little water. I smooshed the small circle in it until I had the desired effect. I then added some Vintage Photo Distress Crayon around the outside and using a waterbrush I pulled it in randomly around the edge.

With the large circle I did the same around the edge but only flicked some of the Vintage Photo Distress Oxide mixed with some water in the middle. I then pulled out my Stampendous Frantage that I've NEVER had any luck with and gave it a go. I sprinkled it over both circles and heated from below.

It worked!

I then second generation stamped one of the circle stamps from the AALL and Create #404 Visual Ingredients in Vintage Photo and #364 Intersecting Circles in Fossilized Amber. I also stamped one of the number stamps from #338 Background Noise in Vintage Photo.

I then adhered the small circle to the large circle lining up the stamped circles at the left and added some white paints splatters quite lightly.

I coloured the image with my copic markers, added some highlights with my white gel pen and cut her out. I then adhered her in the small circle

To finish off I added the sentiment which I had doodled around with my black fineliner and added some Vintage Photo Distress Crayon

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme from Team Wendy is

I've made a slimline card this week. I cut the knitted effect backing paper using the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Fancy Frame die and layered onto my card blank.
I coloured this gorgeous stamp from the Tracey Hey Alpaca Pals Pullover Pals set with my copics and paper pieced his jumper with the knitted effect paper.
I then cut the Concord & 9th Big Thanks die in navy cardstock and added to the top of the card. To finish off I centred my image below the die cut thanks.

Vera Lane Studio - Neapolitan Birthday Girl

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a 6x6 journal page, featuring Birthday Girl who is available in the Etsy shop.

I've gone with a Neapolitan Birthday Girl as I wanted the page the colour of Neapolitan Ice Cream. Is it a flavour that's available all over the world? I really don't know! I just remember it coming in a long cardboard carton when I was wee and my mum sliced it into portions.

I used Paperartsy Fresco Paints in Toffee and Sherbet in opposite corners on my gelli plate and brayered them out.I also added little patches of Dina Wakley Magenta paint. I then applied the AALL and Create #79 Sputnik stencil to it and pressed it down into the layer of paint. I then removed it and allowed it to dry. I then applied a thin layer of the Vanilla to pull the print.

I stamped the grid from the AALL And Create #404 Visual Elements stamp set with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide over the background. I then stamped one of the circle stamps from the same set in Picked Raspberry and Ground Espresso. I finished by stamping the #434 Newsprint Numbers in Picked Raspberry. Some white paint splats to finish.

I then coloured the images with my copics in matching colours adding white highlights with my gel pen, and cut them out. I added some washi tape and then adhered my images to the page. I doodled in the balloon strings with my black fineliner and added some glossy accents to make them shiny. Finally I added the Celebrate sentiment.

Now I'm craving some Neapolitan ice cream!

Vera Lane Studio - My Favourite Colour Is Rainbow

 Happy New Year!

Today I'm sharing my Vera Lane Studio DT project which is a journal page, featuring the girl from the Cheers set and the umbrella from the Big Game set. I widened the umbrella slightly in Word.

I've gone for another tone on tone page apart from the pop of colours on the umbrella. I coloured the image with my copic markers adding highlights with my white gel pen. I fussy cut the image out and placed to one side

For my background I blended some Lucky Clover Distress Oxide onto my card using my blending brushes. I then blended some Black Soot Distress Oxide around the edges.

Next I stamped the AALL And Create #443 Scripted Circles stamp all over the background using Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide. I stamped AALL And Create #352 Circled numbers in Black Soot Distress Oxide randomly around the edges. Next I stamped the numbers from the ALL And Create #211 Count On You stamp set in Lucky Clover Distress Oxide randomly over the background.

I used the lid off a pen and some Paperartsy Fresco Acrylic paint in Snowflake White and stamped some white circles over the background. After that I used some Goosebumps clear texture spray and sprayed in areas over the background. It dried with glossy patches like puddles and tiny drops, giving a watery effect. To finish off the background I added some white paint splatters with my Molotow white acrylic paint pen.

I added a little strip of torn washi tape and adhered my image above it. To finish off I added the "My Favourite Colour Is Rainbow" sentiment.

Crafts Galore Encore January Challenge

Happy New Year!

Today I'm delighted to share my first project for Crafts Galore Encore. I'm so excited to join this wonderful team.

For January it's another anything goes challenge.

The sponsor this month is Sheepski Designs and the prize is 3 digi stamps.

I chose to use this fantastic gnome image called Giant Daisies.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a mega gnome fan. I can't count how many images and stamps I've got, so they were perfect for me. I coloured them with my copic markers, adding some highlights with my white gel pen and die cut them out using my Memory Box Wrapped Stitched circles.

I matted my Nitwit Collections Enchanting papers onto my card blank and added my die cut image. I then die cut out the Lawn Fawn Thanks script die x3 and glued them together to add some dimension. I popped this in the bottom right of my card. I finished off with 3 pearls.
