Just A Card

No challenge card this time, just a Gorjuss girl I had coloured in.I finally decided to use some papers I've had for quite a while and not wanted to cut up.They're BoBunny Bella Journee Santorini range. That shows how old they are.I bought 3 sets, the others being Tuscany and Eire.So as the papers were vivid red and blue,I coloured this Gorjuss girl in using those colours.I finally used a sizzix die I'd bought a while back to make the branch and flowers. The other bits are die cuts from the same Santorini range.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 11 sketch by Kathy

The challenge over at the Sugar Bowl was a sketch by Kathy and you were to include pearls.I decided to use my Basic Grey Wisteria pad instead of just looking at it and another Gorjuss girl too.Again I'm not quite happy with this, can't decide what it is (think I'm never happy with cards....lol).The flowers I made by punching out the Wisteria papers and really crumpling them up.I think it gives a really good effect.(distressed...lol).I did some recently for a scrapbook LO and everyone thought they were fabric.
I rotated the sketch and have also included the pearls. Both in the centre of the flowers and also in the top left corner.I'm just back from Body Combat so off to relax for the rest of the evening and maybe finish another card that's nearly done.

Copic Colour Challenge #13 & Colour Create Week 16

I thought I'd combine the Copic Colour Challenge and Colour Create. The Copic Colour Challenge was to use a sketch by Maddy and Colour Create was to use the colours chosen by Kim which were Sky Blue,Tan and Ecru with the extra option of gloss, glitter or glaze.

I'm not sure about this card, something about it i'm not liking but not sure what.I was going to just leave it off the blog, but it's done so may as well post it.I'm also not sure if those little fairies are supposed to be male or female. They have what looks like dresses but I think they look like little boys....lol

Altered Tin

Sally the girl at Craftology who does the jewellery classes asked me if I'd alter a tin for her to keep her glass beads in.She makes the beads herself and they are gorgeous as well as her jewellery pieces. In return she told me I could choose some beads and she made them up into a necklace for me with some crystals and pearls.
The box I painted with turquoise acrylic paint and covered with the beautiful BoBunny Alyssa
papers.Sally likes birds,so I stamped some from Personal Impressions and coloured with Copics and added one on each side.On the lid I added a cuttlebug embossed oval cut with my nesties.I coloured a Gorjuss girl with my Copics and mounted her on top.The letters are American Craft Thickers painted in turquoise and stickled.I wish I'd left them without the bling now.I gave it a couple of coats of mod podge and added the flowers and butterfly.

This is the gorgeous necklace Sally made for me.I think I got the best deal.

And a close up of her gorgeous glass beads.

I had hoped to try and do another challenge but haven't had time.I had to help my friend finish her wedding invites, alter this tin and finish the LO for my class on Monday. All are finished now so hopefully can get a card made.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 10 sketch by Marlene

Another first for me on the challenge front.First time entering The Sugar Bowl challenge which was a sketch by the fabulous Marlene.
This poor little gorjuss girl,I really feel sorry for her.I hadn't stamped her properly and was really only getting used as a practice with my Copics to try and do the colour black.I was short of C9 so she's more grey than black. She also looks in colour how I felt the other day while colouring her.I was feeling miserable and it was dark and rainy outside,so she got the grey look. Needless to say C9 and a few other Copics into my shopping cart soon cheered me up...lol.
Anyway,I had bought Daisy Buckets scrummy Little Black Dress papers in my local craft shop so decided she wasn't just going to be for a practice. So after I touched in the bits I'd misstamped with my copic fineliner and coloured her she got pride of place on the card.I think she's got
slightly more lace holes in her petticoat than should be,but nevermind.I kept her colouring totally monochrome even on her face which is slightly greyed, and the little fox is now of the Arctic variety...lol.The buttons are cut from a Sizzix Die and covered in glossy accents with some floss threaded through,so I hope they count.....lol
Enough waffling for now,I've got loads to do today as my friend's coming tonight to finish off her wedding invites and I've got a demo weekend ahead at my local craft shop,so apologies for not having blog hopped much .I'll try and pop round when I get a minute.

Colour Create Challenge #14

Well I decided to have another go at a challenge, and so picked Colour Create as they had yummy colours of chocolate, cream and red with the added option of ribbon.I was drooling looking at the picture on the blog...lol
I decided to ink up a little Elzybell bear I bought a while back and hadn't used.He is so cute.I went for the vintage/aged look on this so used distress inks instead of Copics.I didn't use the ribbon though unless you count the lace......lol.I must admit I really like this card IRL which must be a first for me.

I must admit I really love these images even though they've got no mouths...lol.This is number 3 for me and I bought the gorgeous new Blueberry Hill Papers from Papermania which are beautiful so decided to use them.I also decided to use some vellum which I've had for ages and never knew what to do with.
I'm off to crack on with a scrapbook page for my class on Monday night.I want to get it done so I can enjoy the holiday weekend without rushing at the last minute (like usual...lol)

Copic Colour Challenge #10

Well I decided to enter the Copic Colour Challenge again as I need to practise more with my Copics.I really struggled with the colours as what image to use and the Prussian Blue (B39) was very dark.I think I managed to sneak a little bit down the side of the vase. The card is quite CAS for me as I like to add lots of embellishments but thought it suited the image to keep it simple. The stamp was a bit of a pain too as it's not very detailed with the flowers so you've got to add the flower definition yourself. It probably lends itself better to being watercoloured. These are the colours we had to use.

This is my card

Gorjuss Girl # 2

Well I've been tearing my hair out for the last few days trying to get my camera to work to get a photo of this card.It still keeps shutting down when you click to take the pic.I've tried new batteries and took them out and warmed them up and it's still lucky to take one picture.I think a new one is called for.Anyway I finally managed to get one and only one of this card.I coloured this with my Copics before I had read Rach's tutorial so don't look too hard at it....lol.I've distressed the edges of the cardstock and papers with my BG toolkit and inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink as well as round the image and ticket. (It's not showing very well as it was quite bright for a change!)

Copic Colour Challenge #9

The Copic Colour Challenge this week was to use the following colours.

Well I've never ever done a challenge before and so I'm right in at the deep end with this one using Copics,as I've only had mine a few weeks and still getting to grips with them.I suppose this is the best way to learn though.I'd have never ever used these colours together but was surprised how lovely they went together.I'm not particularly happy with the colouring of this image as I found it a bit fiddly, but it's done now.

Gorjuss Girl And Copics

Here's my first Gorjuss Girl.I held off buying them because I've got a thing about no mouths (like Magnolias) but I made an exception with these as they've kind of grown on me (unlike Tildas!...lol)
I've got to thank the fabulous Rach for her Copic tutorial on her blog, which you can find HERE. She made the tutorial so easy to follow and look so easy, even though it's not.I learned more from her tutorial in a few hours than I did in a few weeks reading others. I'm happier with the colouring of this although I still need loads of practise.

A Bit Distressed......

Not quite sure who is more distressed, the card or me.I think I went a bit OTT and think it looks a bit manky looking. (Scottish for dirty). However it's done now and so will have to do.It was a rush job as usual.I had two Mother's Day cards to make. The other I finished tonight but haven't been able to take a pic as it's too dark now.
The picture was on a disc with loads of vintage images I got from my friend.I printed it out onto Letraset Safmat and stuck onto cream cardstock, then distressed it with my BG Precision Toolkit.I'm quite pleased with the result ,as I'd had the Safmat for about a year and never used it.The card is another 8x8 seeing as it's for a special occasion.

Long Time No Blog..........

Yes it's been a while since I last blogged. But as some fellow bloggers know my little boy was diagnosed with a long term disability last July and so he is my main priority now. Unfortunately my crafting and blogging has taken a back seat,as you can probably understand.I can't promise I'll be posting daily, but I'll try and keep up a bit more regularly.Sorry if I've not visited all your lovely blogs.I hope to spend some time catching up.

I've managed to make a few cards (and bought some) and also had to keep my scrapbooking classes going so I'll hopefully get some of it posted.Unfortunately my heads been in the clouds a
bit and forgot to take pictures of some of my cards....dooohhhhhh

This is a card I made for our friends little girl back in January. Daisy from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers,Heidi Grace Paper and SU Stamp set.
I managed to pop along to the Hobbycrafts show at the SECC last Thursday with my friend Lesley. We had a fab day and met up again with the fantastic Kath and the lovely Alison.
I also got to meet some other lovely blog ladies, namely Lorraine, Gayle, Sue and Allison.
It was fabby to meet everyone and see what lovely stash we had all bought.Hope to see them all again in October.

Not Enough Hours......

............hours in the day for me at the moment.I know I've been a bad blogger but I've just had no spare time at the moment.I've been away on a course last week and the week before for a couple of days.Between that and having loads of prep work for my scrapbooking class which was a Xmas word book.I had 20 to cut out of chipboard on the Pazzles as it was a popular class and ran over 2 nights. Also loads of baking to do for Louis School Fayre plus nativity plays and panto's to attend. All the usual school stuff plus more to come.Had a Christmas night out too and another to come, not forgetting going to see Thunder in concert with Stu,which was fabby. I've actually been so short of time I've committed a crafty sin and actually bought Christmas cards as there's just no way I'll get them all done.So please forgive me for not visiting all your fabby blogs.I promise I'll try and get round them in the next few days as hopefully things should start to ease off a bit in some areas. One more crop on Monday and then a break from scrapbooking classes until the New Year.I've also got a treat on Wednesday.I'm having a lovely reiki appointment.I've never had it before so looking forward to it.I certainly need some de-stressing at the moment. Hope everyone is in better order than me at the moment and got all their Christmas shopping done.(I wish!...lol)

Wedding Canvas

I thought it was about time I uploaded a scrapbook page as I haven't done so for a while.Well it's not even just a page, but a canvas. This was a wedding canvas I did for my class tonight. The swirls were piping cord and then coated the lot with white acrylic paint. The paper below the photo and that the little pocket is made from, is vellum with a lovely flock effect flower on it. The pins through the large organza bow were hand made using headpins, pearls and crystals. The title was cut from white pearl card on the Pazzles. It's Only Me

I just wanted to apologise for not being around for so long. We've had a pretty stressful time here for the past wee while and I'd really just wanted to have a break from crafting and blogging for a bit.I even packed all my craft stuff away as I just couldn't be bothered. Thanks to everyone who have left comments and also emailed me.I appreciate it so very much. Thanks also to everyone who gave me awards too, which is so kind considering I've not been around.
Just wish whoever pinched my blog hits would give them back!.......lol. It's gone down instead of up.I didn't realise it did that if you didn't post...hehe.

I decided to go to the Hobbycraft show at the SECC yesterday even though I've not really been in the mood.I thought it might perk me up a bit and help me get back into the swing of things.I'm so glad I did. I met the wonderful Kath.I always knew she was a fabulously talented and lovely lady, and to meet her in real life was worth the visit alone. She kindly treated me to lunch and we had a lovely natter.
I also had another lady approach me and ask me if I had a blog as she thought she recognised me (not sure if that's a good thing!.....lol),so I got to meet the lovely Alison too. We had both been headed for the Sugar Nellie stand and bought some of the lovely new stamps.I think I got 6 in all and it was lovely to meet the Sugar Nellie ladies in person. I also bought far too many lovely papers, especially MME which are just gorgeous and a few other bits and pieces. Some card, white gel pen,box for my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and two new pokey tools as mine keep disappearing.I actually came home with money for a change.....gasp!

I'll hopefully get round and visit everyone over the next few days and catch up. I've made a card with the lovely Little Darling Daisy but it was too dark to take a picture,so i'll upload it tomorrow. She's such a cute little image and at least it got me back into making a card.

Stu asked me if I could make a birthday card for his friend's little boy for his birthday. I used red cardstock for the base card. The PP is K&Co Kazoo Kids as is the number 2 which I matted onto green Bazzill and red card. The train image is from the Making Tracks download from NitWit Collections, which I covered with glossy accents.Matted onto green Bazzill and red card. The ticket is also from the Making Tracks collection. I matted it onto some red card and stamped the Happy Birthday and Your Special Day with Woodware clear stamps and the name was using a Studio G alphabet.I ran a strip of red card through the Cutlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder.I finished it off with some buttons and ribbon.
I also decided to decorate the inside with matching K&Co Kazoo Kids PP. I printed the verse off
and mounted it onto green and red card again and added 4 brads. Stu drew the tracks for me and I cut them on the Craft Robo and made them into a little photo frame,to add a birthday picture to.The carriage was again from the Making Tracks collection and I again added glossy accents and stamped the sentiment with a Studio G clear stamp.
To finish it off i made a matching box and covered it with K&Co Kazoo Kids PP,tag and grand adhesion.

Wedding Cakes

I was asked to make a wedding card for a friend who was going to a wedding in Prague. It was to be Scottish themed as the groom was Scottish.I decided that instead of making a traditional card,I'd make a little keepsake. The template was from UKScrappers by a very talented lady and cut on my Craft Robo. I've made this little 3d wedding cake before as a trial, but this time it was for real and to give to someone on their special day.I assembled the cake and decorated it with tartan ribbon (can't remember which tartan),two little silver rings intertwined, some thistles on the top and a bunch of heather and a thistle down the side.
I then made up the box and lined with acetate.I then decorated round the bottom with more tartan ribbon.I cut out a few tags and decorated with tartan paper. On one I put the couples names and date of wedding. On another I added a wedding verse and also added another for my
friend to write a personal message on.I added another little bunch of heather/thistles and added a gorgeous silver button with a thistle on it.All tied at the top with some tartan ribbon.

The couple really loved it thank goodness. My friend had taken it into her work beforehand and one of her workmates asked if I'd make one for her too as she was going to be bridesmaid at a wedding. This one was to have red tartan instead. So I made another similar one but used the red tartan (Stewart I think......) I had run out of little silver rings so used two entwined wedding bells instead (thank goodness for cake decoration shops!) Sorry about the not so good picture of this one,as I forgot to take a pic before I handed it over,so was done on a mobile phone.

Talking of cake decoration shops. One of them I went into in Glasgow (Top Tier) wanted me to take in samples of them to sell in their shops. I decided against it as I think I'd soon get fed up making loads of them.

80th Birthday

I thought I better get another post on before the weekend as I've got a 2 day demo coming up. I'll be demoing the Pazzles Inspiration cutter. I'm a bit nervous as I've not had it long to play with, but at least the software was familiar as I bought the Funtime software to use with my Craft Robo.

Anyway this is another 8x8 card that I made for an 80th birthday. The image is Pearls and Plumes by Hampton Art Stamps. I coloured her with my Prismacolours. The PP is from the Vita Bella range from My Little Yellow Bicycle. The blue lace was in a bag of lace I won in a blog candy giveaway by Beautifullily. The flowers are Flora Doodles with an antique metal and blue gem brad also from the Vita Bella range.I also added some pearls hanging behind the flower. The Happy Birthday is from a HOTP set and I stamped it onto a tag again from the Vita Bella range,as is the foiled photo corner. The 80 is chipboard numbers from a Brenda Pinnick kit.
