Merry Christmas

I just want to wish all my fellow bloggers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and all the best for 2009.
Hopefully I'll get round to posting a bit more then.I've been extremely busy over the last few weeks and so no posts from me or blogging.
I've not even taken any pictures of my cards I made as I was in such a rush to get them done and posted,so the only festive picture I can show is my Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!
& A
Happy New Year

Not Enough Hours......

............hours in the day for me at the moment.I know I've been a bad blogger but I've just had no spare time at the moment.I've been away on a course last week and the week before for a couple of days.Between that and having loads of prep work for my scrapbooking class which was a Xmas word book.I had 20 to cut out of chipboard on the Pazzles as it was a popular class and ran over 2 nights. Also loads of baking to do for Louis School Fayre plus nativity plays and panto's to attend. All the usual school stuff plus more to come.Had a Christmas night out too and another to come, not forgetting going to see Thunder in concert with Stu,which was fabby. I've actually been so short of time I've committed a crafty sin and actually bought Christmas cards as there's just no way I'll get them all done.So please forgive me for not visiting all your fabby blogs.I promise I'll try and get round them in the next few days as hopefully things should start to ease off a bit in some areas. One more crop on Monday and then a break from scrapbooking classes until the New Year.I've also got a treat on Wednesday.I'm having a lovely reiki appointment.I've never had it before so looking forward to it.I certainly need some de-stressing at the moment. Hope everyone is in better order than me at the moment and got all their Christmas shopping done.(I wish!...lol)

Goodluckabella

Thought it was time to use my sadly neglected Bellas of late.Especially Goodluckabella as she's not even been used.
This was a good luck card for one of my Body Combat buddies who was going through a big op on Friday. She's doing well and should be home soon.

Goodluckabella is coloured with Promarkers.I've used my Marvy Puffy Velvet markers (at long last!) on the shamrocks to give some texture. (The white works great on the FF stamp with the baby bear in the nappy as it makes the nappy feel like a nappy....IYKWIM.....lol)
PP is K&Co Blue Awning as is the die cut circle with the sentiment in the middle. Sentiment is Stamping Bella.Lace ribbon is from stash.SU blue grosgrain ribbon and pearls from Stamping Bella.

Wedding Canvas

I thought it was about time I uploaded a scrapbook page as I haven't done so for a while.Well it's not even just a page, but a canvas. This was a wedding canvas I did for my class tonight. The swirls were piping cord and then coated the lot with white acrylic paint. The paper below the photo and that the little pocket is made from, is vellum with a lovely flock effect flower on it. The pins through the large organza bow were hand made using headpins, pearls and crystals. The title was cut from white pearl card on the Pazzles. The picture is of my great aunt who got married in 1931. I absolutely love the styles from back then and so wanted to use this picture.

Little Darling Daisy

As I mentioned in my last post,I made this card with the new Sugar Nellie Little Darling Daisy stamp. The photo still isn't good as it's dark and wet here and had no real good light today.I'll try and get another on a brighter day(if we get any!)I'm not happy with the ribbons. They'd have been better if they weren't organza, and I didn't want to pull it all apart. The flowers I've tried to make look like a daisy chain.

Coloured with Promarkers.PP are K&Co Wild Saffron.Core'dinations card in brown, green and yellow.Organza ribbon in brown, green and yellow.Liquid pearls to daisies in her hair.Flowers from QVC with Papermania pearls in the centre.Sentiment is from Studio G.

It's Only Me

I just wanted to apologise for not being around for so long. We've had a pretty stressful time here for the past wee while and I'd really just wanted to have a break from crafting and blogging for a bit.I even packed all my craft stuff away as I just couldn't be bothered. Thanks to everyone who have left comments and also emailed me.I appreciate it so very much. Thanks also to everyone who gave me awards too, which is so kind considering I've not been around.
Just wish whoever pinched my blog hits would give them back!.......lol. It's gone down instead of up.I didn't realise it did that if you didn't post...hehe.

I decided to go to the Hobbycraft show at the SECC yesterday even though I've not really been in the mood.I thought it might perk me up a bit and help me get back into the swing of things.I'm so glad I did. I met the wonderful Kath.I always knew she was a fabulously talented and lovely lady, and to meet her in real life was worth the visit alone. She kindly treated me to lunch and we had a lovely natter.
I also had another lady approach me and ask me if I had a blog as she thought she recognised me (not sure if that's a good thing!.....lol),so I got to meet the lovely Alison too. We had both been headed for the Sugar Nellie stand and bought some of the lovely new stamps.I think I got 6 in all and it was lovely to meet the Sugar Nellie ladies in person. I also bought far too many lovely papers, especially MME which are just gorgeous and a few other bits and pieces. Some card, white gel pen,box for my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and two new pokey tools as mine keep disappearing.I actually came home with money for a change.....gasp!

I'll hopefully get round and visit everyone over the next few days and catch up. I've made a card with the lovely Little Darling Daisy but it was too dark to take a picture,so i'll upload it tomorrow. She's such a cute little image and at least it got me back into making a card.

Choo Choo Train

Stu asked me if I could make a birthday card for his friend's little boy for his birthday. I used red cardstock for the base card. The PP is K&Co Kazoo Kids as is the number 2 which I matted onto green Bazzill and red card. The train image is from the Making Tracks download from NitWit Collections, which I covered with glossy accents.Matted onto green Bazzill and red card. The ticket is also from the Making Tracks collection. I matted it onto some red card and stamped the Happy Birthday and Your Special Day with Woodware clear stamps and the name was using a Studio G alphabet.I ran a strip of red card through the Cutlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder.I finished it off with some buttons and ribbon.
I also decided to decorate the inside with matching K&Co Kazoo Kids PP. I printed the verse off
and mounted it onto green and red card again and added 4 brads. Stu drew the tracks for me and I cut them on the Craft Robo and made them into a little photo frame,to add a birthday picture to.The carriage was again from the Making Tracks collection and I again added glossy accents and stamped the sentiment with a Studio G clear stamp.
To finish it off i made a matching box and covered it with K&Co Kazoo Kids PP,tag and grand adhesion.

Award

I'd like to say a great big thanks to Jools for this lovely award.I've not been keeping my blog up to date so frequently so really appreciate being given it.

I'd like to pass it on to another 5 fabby bloggers. Julie,Kerry,Emma,Kerry (pickle),and Zoe

Wedding Cakes

I was asked to make a wedding card for a friend who was going to a wedding in Prague. It was to be Scottish themed as the groom was Scottish.I decided that instead of making a traditional card,I'd make a little keepsake. The template was from UKScrappers by a very talented lady and cut on my Craft Robo. I've made this little 3d wedding cake before as a trial, but this time it was for real and to give to someone on their special day.I assembled the cake and decorated it with tartan ribbon (can't remember which tartan),two little silver rings intertwined, some thistles on the top and a bunch of heather and a thistle down the side.
I then made up the box and lined with acetate.I then decorated round the bottom with more tartan ribbon.I cut out a few tags and decorated with tartan paper. On one I put the couples names and date of wedding. On another I added a wedding verse and also added another for my
friend to write a personal message on.I added another little bunch of heather/thistles and added a gorgeous silver button with a thistle on it.All tied at the top with some tartan ribbon.

The couple really loved it thank goodness. My friend had taken it into her work beforehand and one of her workmates asked if I'd make one for her too as she was going to be bridesmaid at a wedding. This one was to have red tartan instead. So I made another similar one but used the red tartan (Stewart I think......) I had run out of little silver rings so used two entwined wedding bells instead (thank goodness for cake decoration shops!) Sorry about the not so good picture of this one,as I forgot to take a pic before I handed it over,so was done on a mobile phone.

Talking of cake decoration shops. One of them I went into in Glasgow (Top Tier) wanted me to take in samples of them to sell in their shops. I decided against it as I think I'd soon get fed up making loads of them.

80th Birthday

I thought I better get another post on before the weekend as I've got a 2 day demo coming up. I'll be demoing the Pazzles Inspiration cutter. I'm a bit nervous as I've not had it long to play with, but at least the software was familiar as I bought the Funtime software to use with my Craft Robo.

Anyway this is another 8x8 card that I made for an 80th birthday. The image is Pearls and Plumes by Hampton Art Stamps. I coloured her with my Prismacolours. The PP is from the Vita Bella range from My Little Yellow Bicycle. The blue lace was in a bag of lace I won in a blog candy giveaway by Beautifullily. The flowers are Flora Doodles with an antique metal and blue gem brad also from the Vita Bella range.I also added some pearls hanging behind the flower. The Happy Birthday is from a HOTP set and I stamped it onto a tag again from the Vita Bella range,as is the foiled photo corner. The 80 is chipboard numbers from a Brenda Pinnick kit.

Golden Wedding........

This is a card I was asked to make a few weeks ago.It was to be a special card from 6 girls for a Golden Wedding Anniversary. I decide to make it 8x8 as that's a very special size and I seem to be making quite a few of them lately. I used Papermania Silk Screened Paper (Gold Ornate Metallic).I then took another piece and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Script embossing folder, tore the edges and inked it to look old.I added a piece of vintage looking lace around it.The hearts were stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder. (I think the stamp is an Anita's one)I matted them onto cream hammered card, punched two eyelets with my Crop-A-Dile and tied a bow between the two with gold ribbon. The 50 chipboard numbers were from a Brenda Pinnick kit that I embossed with gold too.The ivory organza ribbon I ran down the length of the card and added a row of ivory pearls,a bow and two ivory heart shaped pearls. To finish it I wrote the sentiment on the Robo and matted it onto some left over gold card and added two gold brads.

I'd also like to enter this card into Kerry's (A Load Of Old Pickle) blog candy challenge to celebrate 10,000 hits on her blog. Well done Kerry!. The challenge was to make a card using Kerry's favourite crafty essential, which is ribbon.

Birthday Cards.....

These are three lovely Birthday cards I received from friends on the Docrafts forum. Another year older......lol. One is from Lesley, one from Hazel and one from Heather. Thanks ladies for the lovely cards.I know Lesley would have needed help to make hers as she severed a tendon in her right hand and can't use it properly yet.

I'd also like to wish two of my fave people who share their birthday with me a very Happy Birthday. The gorgeous Scottish actor and best James Bond ever....Mr Sean Connery and one of the best guitarists ever, from Def Leppard...the gorgeous Vivian Campbell. Hope you have a great day!

This is a card I was asked by Lesley to make for her niece. The image is Pickin' Apples from the Sweet Ebony range, coloured with my Prismacolors.I still prefer these to watercolour pencils and Promarkers.I matted the image onto green Bazzill.K&Co Blue Awning PP matted onto green Bazzill. Lace from stash and added a row of little pearls.Sentiment was written with a pen on my Craft Robo. The flowers are Prima with little ribbon loops attached at the back. The beaded flower centre is also from the K&Co Blue Awning range. Some little blue gems to finish.

Oh So Lovely.......Ladies

The first card is a card I made for the lovely Emma (Elf Creations) as a thank you for her support and friendship since I set up my blog. I decided to use my Stampin'Up goodies to make this card. The image is from the Oh So Lovely Hostess Set. I coloured it with my Prismacolors and then went over it with my clear Sakura Glaze pen.I inked all round the edges with a Versa Magic chalk ink pad in Pretty Petunia and matted it onto some SU Lovely Lilac card.I then tied some SU Elegant Eggplant ribbon round it.The card is an 8x8 and I used SU Lovely Lilac and matted some deeper lilac Core'dination card on top. I then used the reverse of the Core'dination card which was a paler lilac and ran it through the Cuttlebug embossing folder with the wee birds and swirls(can't remember what it's called).I then inked it with the Versa Magic chalk ink and matted it onto the SU Lovely Lilac.I cut the fancy corners with my cuttlebug and the sentiment is by Studio G.

The second card I made for the lovely Kath (All That Glitter).Kath is a fellow Scot and makes the most amazing cards. She regularly takes part in card challenges and had mentioned she didn't have any House Mouse Stamps for their challenge blog.I made this wallet card and added some stamped images for her. I used the Gruffies stamp Bouquet Of Lavender and coloured it with my Prismacolours.I faux stitched round the edge of it and matted it onto some SU Lovely Lilac card edged with my Multishaper punch.I then used my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and added some eyelets and threaded the lilac gingham ribbon through and tied in a bow.The base card is white cardstock matted with SU Lovely Lilac and white card I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment stamp is Studio G.

The lovely Donna (luvocardz) has tagged me.

Another New Beginning.....

Today was Louis first day and school and he was soooo excited to be going. I can believe my baby is at school now. He looked so grown up in his uniform. He was big and brave though and not a tear, (can't say the same about mummy!) and was quite happy to be there.

New Beginnings......

After everything that's been happening recently it's time to move forward so I decided to give my blog a bit of an overhaul.Hopefully I'll get the rest done soon as I've only changed the background. I've seen some lovely blogs with gorgeous backgrounds so decided on the Rock theme....surprise! As my post says....New Beginnings,so I decided to post some baby cards I've done.
The first three boy cards I was asked to make for someone. The papers are all Craft Creations. Both stamped images are from Stamping Bella. The pram image I stamped onto card then stamped onto PP and cut out the pram body and decoupaged. The middle card pram is made using the Multishaper punch.I punched a circle and cut out a quarter to make pram shape.

The baby girl cards were both also commissions.PP is Craft Creations and the pram has been decoupaged as on the baby boy card. The baby cake and box were cut on my Craft Robo using a fab template from UKScrappers, and the bib and bottle were made from Sculpey clay.

Lastly is 2 cards I was asked to make by Stu as his friends were due a baby.I got the inspiration for these cards from here.
I didn't have the right size Scalloped ovals,so Stu made the shape for me on Autocad and I converted to a Craft Robo GSD file and cut it on my Robo. The papers were printed out from Hallmark Scrapbook. The sentiment was printed onto a tag shape on Shrink plastic and heated t0 reduce.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks

I'd just like to thank everyone for all your lovely messages and best wishes. Sorry I've not been around for a while but I've just not really wanted to be bothered with blogging for the last few weeks. It was the last thing on my mind.
Time to look forward now and move on from here after our devastating news. It's something I don't really want to put on a public blog but it's not the end of the world.
Our holiday was great. The weather stayed nice for most of the holidays.I'm only sorry I didn't get to meet some of my blogging buddies from up north while I was there. I probably wouldn't have been much company anywa
y.

I'd also like to thank Donna (luvocardz) and Lorraine (crafty coo) for these two lovely awards. As I haven't been around I'm guessing everyone will have had them by now.So to everyone who comments on my blog, consider yourself awarded
.

I'll hopefully later try and catch up with all your lovely blogs and see what gorgeous crafty creations you've all been making. I'll try and post some of mine too as I've got quite a few going back a month or so.

Tomorrow we're off on our holidays to the Black Isle to unwind a bit. Unfortunately it happened to coincide with what was happening this week.
Hopefully when we get back we can look at things in a better light and move on from here.
Hope to catch up with everyone when I get back.

Red Carpet

Well I'd just like to thank everyone for their good wishes on my trip back to hospital for another wee operation. All is well so far but just a wee bit tender at my hips.I keep bumping into the kitchen worktops too as it's just at the same height...ouch!
I was to be at The Golden Jubilee Hospital for 11am and arrived at the car park entrance at 10.30ish to be greeted by 3 police officers who waved me to stop. What's the nature of the visit they asked. I'm being admitted for an operation
I said,so they waved me on into the car park. When I drove in the place was full of police. Two walking towards me had braid on their hats. Not PC's for sure...lol. Couldn't find a parking space so drove round to the other side of the hospital where the hotel is and parked. As I walked up to the entrance a guy was hoovering a red carpet. Geez...they didn't have to go to all that trouble for me....pmsl. Anyway as it turned out HRH Queen Elizabeth was visiting to open the new heart and lung department. Mystery of all the police solved!
I was put into the same room I had when I had my op back in January and had a great view of the helipad. Down came the helicopter and dropped off HRH and Prince Philip, who then jumped into their Rolls Royce and were driven by the hospital windows where we were all standing and received the Royal Wave. Was tempted to wave my paper knickers but would probably have got carted off to the Tower. So that was my gossip for the day.

I've added a couple of cards that I made for Louis teachers to prevent the boredom of my previous waffle....lol. Louis finished nursery a week past on Friday,so my baby starts school in August. I can't believe it. The time has just flown by.
Both cards are using Birthday Hamish kindly got for me by Stu along with some others.I've coloured them both with my Prismacolors. The pink PP is Daisybuckets (gasp!) and the brown is Heidi Grace and has a lovely silk and
flock feel. Papermania Brads (ordinary and sugar coated), Making Memories cheeky clips, flowers and Studio G sentiment stamps.

Lovely Surprise In The Post Today

A beautiful Thank You card from the lovely Emma (elf-creations).It's an absolutely stunning card and the photo I took doesn't do it justice. It was such a thoughtful gesture from Emma.We both set up our blogs at the same time and have become blogging buddies. Emma's card was a thank you for supporting her since setting up her blog. Emma, the pleasure was all mine. You're a very talented lady and worth every comment you receive. You're also very supportive of lots of people in blogland as I've seen your posts on many of them including mine and for that I owe you a great big thanks. I also hope you're feeling better as I know you've been under the weather.
Hugs

Well tomorrow I'm off into hospital again for a minor operation to tidy up two little end bits of my scar from my tummy operation back in January. At least this time it'll be under local anaesthetic instead of general,so shouldn't be too bad.

Jon Bon Jovi.......

.......................................and some cards!

This is one of a few pictures I took at the Bon Jovi concert. They're all quite dark as it was such a miserable day weather wise.I think this picture of Jon sums up how we were all feeling in the Scottish rain...lol

Next up is a wedding card I was asked to
make.Fairly simple design.Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts which I love using on wedding/anniversary cards. I've cut it in silver mirror card and white.White organza ribbon tied in a bow with a pearl and crystal embellishment I got at the SECC at the craft show.Little strings of pearls and Papermania pearl brads.

Spiderman next! I'm not a great fan of making themed cards like this but it was what I was asked for. I've cheated a bit and
used a Spiderman embellishment. Spiderman backing paper on which I've mounted black Core'dination card (Hocus Pocus Petrificus)which I ran through the Cuttlebug with the spider's web embossing folder and sanded it down to show the grey/silver core. The sentiment was written with my Craft Robo using the Spiderman font.

Last up in this group is a 40th Birthday card I was asked to make. I've used my Partygirlabella rubber stamp again from Stamping Bella. The PP is by Sandylion and was kindly sent to me as a thank you from Jools for sending her some stamped images. I matted it onto pink Bazzill card. The green Core'dination card is embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder and sanded back. Number 40 cut with the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet. Image is coloured with Prismacolor pencils.Papermania sugar coated brads in corners. Some green and pink organza ribbon .Sentiment printed on the PC.Pink and green flowers to finish.

I've managed to catch up with a few blogs so far and hope to get round the rest later. I've still got a card and LO to finish, which should hopefully be tonight. Phewwwwwwww!

Buried Under A Pile Of Stash

Hi folks, sorry AGAIN for the lack of blogging but I've literally been buried under a pile of stash.I've had about 7 commissioned cards to make this week plus get a LO done for the class next week. Most of the cards had tight deadlines too so I've been working like a busy little bee. I'm not the fastest card maker in the world so it was taking up most of my time, plus trying to keep on top of everything else. Unfortunately I wasn't whisked off by Jon Bon Jovi...lol. It was a fantastic concert but to say I was drookit was an understatement. It started raining while we were in the queue and never stopped until the Sunday afternoon. We had no jackets or waterproofs so were soaked to the skin, but it was still a fab night. I'll pop a few pictures on hopefully over the weekend of the concert and also of the cards I remembered to actually photograph as I missed a few due to them being needed so quickly. I'll also catch up with everyone's blogs and the tags I've been given.

Rockchick Card And Rockchick Night

Before I post pictures from the Def Leppard/Whitesnake concert last night I thought I'd show you a card I made for a good friend from one of the Rockchick doodles Kerry (curlygirlyme) sent to me when she sent me my card.
I used a Black and Teal blue colour combination.Black cardstock matted with Basic Grey Two Scoops teal coloured paper.I then used some black lace edged with teal and fixed it to the card using DST and black eyelets (don't ask where the lace was from!.....lol).The rock paper is by Crate and I ripped it to shape the card on either side.As the lace was a pain to stay stuck I decided to set more eyelets and making it lace up the front using teal ribbon. The stamped sentiment is from Studio G but I went over it with a black Sakura glaze pen.The red rose rub on was from a set I had (can't remember who by).The top right corner I've threaded teal ribbon through the eyelets and added a Dovecraft fancy brad but changed the central brad to a Papermania teal coloured pearl brad to match the colours as it was originally pink. I then added some pearls and teal ribbon under it. Kerry's rockchick doodle I coloured with my Prismacolor pencils and added some Papermania clear gems to the studded belt.I also used my Sakura black glaze pen on the beads.
The card was made as a thank you for a lovely, kind, generous deed done by a good pal.

Well what can I say about the Def Leppard/Whitesnake concert but WOW,WOW,WOW!. What a fantastic night.I was standing in the 3rd row from the stage slightly to the right so I could get a good view of David Coverdale and Doug Aldrich from Whitesnake and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard.(great eye candy!...lol) Whitesnake were on first and David Coverdale just played the crowd magnificently, especially the women. I have to say he totally made my night on two occasions.During the first track I got eye contact with him and blew him a kiss and he blew one back...swoonnnnnnnnnn....pmsl. Then nearer the end again I got eye contact and was blowing kisses with both hands and he responded again.....wooooooooooooo. No luck from Joe though....sniff.Def Leppard were excellent too though despite no kisses from Joe....pmsl.Was a fabulous night. My feet were sore, voice was hoarse and my hands were bruised from clapping, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I've got a few pictures to post but will post better ones later as my friend had a better resolution camera so took most of the pictures.

Lastly I'd just like to say thanks to Beautifullily for the lovely blog candy of lace she had and that I can't believe I won. So many thanks for that. It's beautiful.
