.......................................and some cards!
This is one of a few pictures I took at the Bon Jovi concert. They're all quite dark as it was such a miserable day weather wise.I think this picture of Jon sums up how we were all feeling in the Scottish rain...lol
Next up is a wedding card I was asked to make.Fairly simple design.Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts which I love using on wedding/anniversary cards. I've cut it in silver mirror card and white.White organza ribbon tied in a bow with a pearl and crystal embellishment I got at the SECC at the craft show.Little strings of pearls and Papermania pearl brads.
Spiderman next! I'm not a great fan of making themed cards like this but it was what I was asked for. I've cheated a bit and used a Spiderman embellishment. Spiderman backing paper on which I've mounted black Core'dination card (Hocus Pocus Petrificus)which I ran through the Cuttlebug with the spider's web embossing folder and sanded it down to show the grey/silver core. The sentiment was written with my Craft Robo using the Spiderman font.
Last up in this group is a 40th Birthday card I was asked to make. I've used my Partygirlabella rubber stamp again from Stamping Bella. The PP is by Sandylion and was kindly sent to me as a thank you from Jools for sending her some stamped images. I matted it onto pink Bazzill card. The green Core'dination card is embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder and sanded back. Number 40 cut with the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet. Image is coloured with Prismacolor pencils.Papermania sugar coated brads in corners. Some green and pink organza ribbon .Sentiment printed on the PC.Pink and green flowers to finish.
I've managed to catch up with a few blogs so far and hope to get round the rest later. I've still got a card and LO to finish, which should hopefully be tonight. Phewwwwwwww!
Hi folks, sorry AGAIN for the lack of blogging but I've literally been buried under a pile of stash.I've had about 7 commissioned cards to make this week plus get a LO done for the class next week. Most of the cards had tight deadlines too so I've been working like a busy little bee. I'm not the fastest card maker in the world so it was taking up most of my time, plus trying to keep on top of everything else. Unfortunately I wasn't whisked off by Jon Bon Jovi...lol. It was a fantastic concert but to say I was drookit was an understatement. It started raining while we were in the queue and never stopped until the Sunday afternoon. We had no jackets or waterproofs so were soaked to the skin, but it was still a fab night. I'll pop a few pictures on hopefully over the weekend of the concert and also of the cards I remembered to actually photograph as I missed a few due to them being needed so quickly. I'll also catch up with everyone's blogs and the tags I've been given.
We're halfway there.............Whooahhhhh living on a prayer.
Yes....I'm off to see Bon Jovi today.....lol. Sorry Donna (luvocardz) but I'm not buying the message from you that the concert was cancelled as Jon was giving you a private visit.....pmsl. Anyway,I'll be rocking the night away.Hope everyone has a great day whatever they're doing.
Emma at Elf-Creations has some lovely blog candy to give away on her achieving a milestone on her weight loss.Well done Emma! To be in with a chance you have to link to her blog and also tell her what one of your achievements was. Pop over and have a look. Emma is an extremely talented lady and has a blog full of wonderful creations.
Before I post pictures from the Def Leppard/Whitesnake concert last night I thought I'd show you a card I made for a good friend from one of the Rockchick doodles Kerry (curlygirlyme) sent to me when she sent me my card. I used a Black and Teal blue colour combination.Black cardstock matted with Basic Grey Two Scoops teal coloured paper.I then used some black lace edged with teal and fixed it to the card using DST and black eyelets (don't ask where the lace was from!.....lol).The rock paper is by Crate and I ripped it to shape the card on either side.As the lace was a pain to stay stuck I decided to set more eyelets and making it lace up the front using teal ribbon. The stamped sentiment is from Studio G but I went over it with a black Sakura glaze pen.The red rose rub on was from a set I had (can't remember who by).The top right corner I've threaded teal ribbon through the eyelets and added a Dovecraft fancy brad but changed the central brad to a Papermania teal coloured pearl brad to match the colours as it was originally pink. I then added some pearls and teal ribbon under it. Kerry's rockchick doodle I coloured with my Prismacolor pencils and added some Papermania clear gems to the studded belt.I also used my Sakura black glaze pen on the beads. The card was made as a thank you for a lovely, kind, generous deed done by a good pal.
Well what can I say about the Def Leppard/Whitesnake concert but WOW,WOW,WOW!. What a fantastic night.I was standing in the 3rd row from the stage slightly to the right so I could get a good view of David Coverdale and Doug Aldrich from Whitesnake and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard.(great eye candy!...lol) Whitesnake were on first and David Coverdale just played the crowd magnificently, especially the women. I have to say he totally made my night on two occasions.During the first track I got eye contact with him and blew him a kiss and he blew one back...swoonnnnnnnnnn....pmsl. Then nearer the end again I got eye contact and was blowing kisses with both hands and he responded again.....wooooooooooooo. No luck from Joe though....sniff.Def Leppard were excellent too though despite no kisses from Joe....pmsl.Was a fabulous night. My feet were sore, voice was hoarse and my hands were bruised from clapping, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I've got a few pictures to post but will post better ones later as my friend had a better resolution camera so took most of the pictures.
Lastly I'd just like to say thanks to Beautifullily for the lovely blog candy of lace she had and that I can't believe I won. So many thanks for that. It's beautiful.
Yeahhhhhh......I'm off to see Def Leppard and Whitesnake at the SECC. I'm so looking forward to this concert.I saw Whitesnake 2 years ago and they were fantastic, but it was way back in 2003 I last saw Def Leppard. They played twice in Scotland. Glasgow in the February and October in Edinburgh. I went to the Glasgow show and I was pregnant at the time with Louis (no wonder he loves rock music!) I missed the October show though as I'd just had Louis in the September. So I'm really, really looking forward to seeing Def Leppard again. I might just do another wee dance as I'm so excited. Can you tell?.....lol
So in the words of the two fabby bands......."Let's Get Rocked In The Still Of The Night"
I've cut up my gorgeous Daisybuckets papers. Not just once......but 3 times! Oh what will I do.It's a terrible crime......lol
Anyway,I had these 3 cards to make for this week but couldn't post them earlier as they might have been seen. The first was for a lovely lady on Docrafts called Hazel whose birthday it was.I used Daisybuckets Sweet Marabella Bianca papers.Partygirlabella Stamp coloured with Prismacolor pencils. Some flowers with sugar coated Papermania brads in the centre,Papermania gems and some ribbon.
The second card was for Louis nursery teacher whose birthday it was.Again I've used Daisybuckets Whimsical Ladies Royal Court papers and also Partygirlabella coloured with my Prismas. Stamped sentiment from Studio G. Some purple ribbon,Papermania gems and a Flora doodle flower with Papermania brad in the centre. Finally the last card is for Father's Day. Again it's Daisybuckets Under The Boardwalk On The Clock papers. The teddy bear was made from Sculpey clay in a mould and decorated with chalks. The nose and eyes are coloured with a black Sakura glaze pen. He's mounted onto cream card cut with my Nestabilities and then onto my lovely new Core'dination cardstock also cut with my scallop nestabilities. This card has a contrasting coloured core and is great for distressing as the inner core colour shows through.I've used my Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder on a strip of the Core'dinations card and rubbed it with sandpaper,I also used the same technique on the Dad letter which were cut from a Sizzix Alphabet. The brads in the corners were from a previous Costco scrapbook kit and the little gem hearts are Papermania. This is Louis card for his daddy.
Happy Father's Day to all fathers today whether here or who are in our thoughts.
I can only apologise for being such a bad blogger over the last few weeks as I've been really busy. What with the scrapbooking classes and crops and also planning them,Louis having school visits as he starts primary in August and I've had loads of cards to make.So I've had no time for blogging or blog hopping. Hopefully I'll get back on track and get round all the blogs. The scrapbooking classes went well as did the crops and the feedback has been very positive, so I'm a happy bunny.
Here's the LO I did for the first class that I said I'd post last week (oops!) As I mentioned in my last post it was a girlie page and I used the Delightful Range from My Little Yellow Bicycle. The butterflies are cut on the Cuttlebug from pink Bazzill and vellum. The vellum is then embossed and chalked with shimmer chalks and Sakura glitter pen.Prima flowers and some organza ribbon threaded through eyelets finishes it off. This was a girls night out to the Curry Karaoke Club in Glasgow. Needless to say after a few drinks my SIL and me were up singing Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer.....we've got the video and audio proof...lol. At least the rest of the crowd were up singing and dancing so we can't have been too bad (that's probably just my opinion!) and one guy was even playing air guitar.
I teach my first scrapbook class at Craftology and I'm soooooo nervous. I've got 2 classes a week of a specific page and then a crop the week in between. Apart from the 2 demo days a couple of weeks ago I've no experience of teaching. Fingers crossed it'll be ok. The page is girlie themed and using the Delightful Range from My Little Yellow Bicycle and gorgeous prima flowers. I'll post the LO on Wednesday after I've done the classes. Meanwhile here's another using the Fancy Pants range I did for the demo days. There's also a Fancy Pants pink border acetate overlay on it.Fancy Pants pin through the ribbon and I added some pink beads to it.Used my Crop-A-Dile Big bite to set the eyelets and threaded some pink organza ribbon through. The little heart is a Fancy Pants die cut and I've finished it off with some pink Prima flowers. This is a picture of little me when I was a baby.
